This professor is a real gem, he cares about your grades. He wants to see you succeed and will do anything to help that. He is by far my favourite professor and I hope that I get to take another class with him in the future.

Jeff made a very dry course bearable. He had many examples from the real world to tie in with the models. Fair grader, knowledgeable, would take again. TIP: Study the text book early.

Awesome prof. I know there are mixed reviews but he really cares about his students. Yes he makes you deal with group member issues on your own but that's what it would be like in the real world anyways. He gives us handouts to follow along in class and those basically count as your participation marks and thats basically your midterm&final format.

Jeff is a nice prof, if you have questions about lecture or group project he is very approachable. However, his exams are NOT easy. You have to study the lectures, memorize and some of the exam questions are more on application so it's not that easy to answer.

Jeff Ryan was possibly the best professor I have had during the course of degree (fourth year student). He explained what was going to be on the exams, and papers and project were marked fairly.

Comment:

100% after this term would not recommend Jeff as a prof to anyone. Although he is a fairly easy marker. Our case study team found one of our team members plagiarizing and when we brought this to Jeff, he didn't do anything about it or report and we were stuck working with the person and ended up doing all the work, which is not fair to us.

Comment:

Friendly & easygoing guy. Attendance to every class/textbook is not necessary. He uses the textbook PowerPoints and explains accordingly per slide. Midterm and Final are fairly easy with a mix of MC & SA. The group project is heavily weighted and has 3 parts. He can be vague in explaining what he wants and the marking criteria can be unclear.

He is easy and his classes are all powerpoints so you don't necessarily need to be there all the time. The biggest issue with him is his grading criteria and the way he defines his assignments and projects is incredibly vague so you need to be in touch with him to make sure you kn ow exactly what to do.

Jeff goes over the power point slides very quickly and tries to add to them a little bit. However, he is very monotone and hard to follow along with. This is likely the reason less than half the class showed up for his classes. Pretty difficult exams and a so-so marker for the group project components. Personally a very nice guy and loves Apple!

Jeff is awesome ! Classes were kind of boring, but he was very clear on what would be on the midterm. His hints were excellent, as they were pretty much what were on the tests. Also is a fair marker and will give free-be's here and there. Super understanding and friendly. Would recommend. "Anyone have any thoughts on that?".

Do not pass up an opportunity to have Jeff as a prof. Midterm and final are based on the handout questions he gives during class (for participation marks), but the answers are all on his powerpoints so attendance is important but not mandatory. Gives clear guidelines for projects and presentations. Very understanding and helpful professor.

Jeff is a really good guy. You can tell he's very passionate about marketing and teaching it. He is in most cases a fair grader. Tests consist of half multiple choice, half written. He gives very specific clues about what to focus on for written which is nice, the rest is entirely up to you. The amount of love for Apple gets to be a bit much

He's a great prof, offers a lot of support when it comes to the exams. Since it was a spring course, everything was moving fast. Make sure to get a good group! The entire course is group focused. Easy to present to. Read/study slides and you'll get a good mark.

I don't know if this is an issue with Jeff or BUSN450, but going to class is a struggle because it's just PPT slides blown over at 100 mph. Just study the review slides and you'll be fine. Make sure you have a good group as well, because there's a ton of (fairly enjoyable) group work. On the plus side, he's a nice guy and generous marker.
