Amazing professor, I learned a lot from this course as he takes the time to make sure you understand the lectures and the readings. He makes himself available to you as long as you are putting forth the effort in class. Highly recommended!

Gives good lectures and normally lets out of class early. His tests are super long, but he gives you adequate material to prepare for them. His slides aren't very clear, but if you are in class, it isn't a problem.

Gives random points for wearing WSU gear. Participation graded. Uses coursemart for book, which is graded. Very cheesy and unfunny, but just gives away points. Not a very good lecturer, he's all over the place. But the exams are really easy; I barely opened my book all semester.

He literally repeated himself over 100 times on what he will assess on the final. Very clear when you focus on his lecture and he stars all he slides that will be on the exam. He was tough but I learned the most from him. CourseMate is your friend for this course!! It helps more than you think.

This class wasn't difficult, but the clarity of the course expectations was absolutely abysmal. It was two weeks before the course ended before i found out our "groups" (i.e. 4 other people in the class that you work with ALL semester) basically mean nothing and you don't complete any actual graded work w/ them. Cool guy, horrible course structure.

No test, just a group midterm and final presentation, along with a midterm and final paper. But I think he changed that, I took this class last year Fall 2014. I needed my book only for my papers.

His lectures had nothing to do with what was on the test, which made me very confused. He does not give a study guide and just tells you to read the chapters for the test (not helpful). I struggle the whole semester in this class and I had a horrible group. Gives way to much work, I struggled to keep up in this course and was so overwhelmed.

Honestly Dr. Stoltman is the best professor I've had at Wayne State. He clearly cares about his class, he is always switching up his style trying to find the best formula. He has a very dry humor that most people take as rude, but he is a very nice guy. He wants students to work for their grade, and is very helpful one on one.

One of the worst teachers I have ever had at WSU. Lectures were short, rest of the time students worked in groups. Didn't learn much. If you like structure do not take his class, it was a waste of time and money.

Weird teacher, not clear grading system. His grading is not based on student's level of knowledge but on personal preferences. The material posted on BB is poorly organized. Does not inspire students nor helps them to excel.

One of my favorite professors I've ever had! You DO need to go to class, but we never took the whole time, he gives time for group discussion & he is not boring. Just do what he asks and it's an easy A. There was only 2 tests. The group project is really easy. He let us buy an old version of the text, it was $5 & not required.

All group and attendance is mandatory. While taking the class I was a little bit overwhelmed, but had a great group and received an A. He's one of the BEST teachers I have had at Wayne and his class taught me a lot about teamwork. All applied learning, very intelligent man, great class if your willing to put in the work necessary for success.

For the most part he's a decent professor. Keeps things interesting and interactive. Class participation is key to success-Means you have to show up and ask questions even though attendance is not formally recorded. Mid-term paper and Final paper are all based on the tools used from the textbook.

The power points will save you in the class, same as the text. The quizzes are hard, bc the majority of them were t/f which you either knew the material or not. Interesting class, enjoyed his knowledge of the material.

Stoltman is a thoroughly knowledgeable professor, but his lectures are hardly helpful to the exams. You HAVE to know the slides (which he rarely covers in class) in order to do well. You also need to show up for participation points.

I felt that overall he was unclear about the expectations of the students. His lectures were not consistent with the book and he spent a lot of time talking about his past. The first exam was ridiculous and then he threw an additional paper at us right before the final; he claimed it would be useful for the final, when in fact, it was not.

(sigh) He's okay. His lectures are all over the place and his tests are easy multiple choice wise (basically vocab), but his essays are killer. You really need to go in depth. Most students bomb the first exam's essay and if they do good on the second exam's, then he somehow curves it to make up for the first one. Not great, but okay.

Stoltman is a great teacher, regardless of his rating. Here are some keys to success...First, participation is KEY in order to do well. It makes up 50% of the grade so you HAVE to speak up no matter what! No papers or speeches but you'll get a tough midterm/final. You'll need the book and if your absent for any reason, your entire team is penalized
