Comment:

He didn't care if students were learning. Big lack of review for tests. No study resources, but tested on material we hadn't seen in over a month. Always left the class the second it was over. Hard to talk to. Overall, he didn't seem to care about his students. Went to class, made effort, but he did nothing to help. Had to drop it to save my GPA.

Webb's class is mediocre, however, his tests are brutal and he gives you no time on them which makes people rush. Multiple people in my class did not do well because of this, including me. I suggest don't take this class unless you need it for your major.

Had him for ear theory and training. Probably the hardest class I have ever taken. He is terrible in every way possible because it seems as though he wants everyone to fail. I studied harder for this class then any of my other ones and did the worst in webbs. He puts vocab words on the test that aren't in the book or notes

Professor Webb is a great instructor and teaches well. He expects you to put in effort and do the required assignments / actually prepare for the exams. IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS, TRY, AND PARTICIPATE THEN YOU WILL DO WELL. It should come as no shock that you actually must attend class! It's not a hard class. DO THE WORK! FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!

Webb makes you feel uncomfortable in class when going over questions. If you don't know an answer its almost as if he tries to make you look stupid. His tests are too long;I got a 50% on one because I couldn't finish in the given time. He is merciless when it comes to grading. Amount of work outside of class was more than my other classes combined.

Other reviews are def. from poor students.I had a medical excuse to leave(for 2 wks!)and since I attended class every day and did the work,he did not mind at all(try calling student affairs if it's actually "legit")Take notes, very easy! Goes over things numerous times and tells you exactly what's on exams. Homework is not bad. Twice a week, 5 min.

Had him for Special Topics in Music: the Beatles. Only gave 1 grade back the entire semester, Takes 2 letter grades off for misspellings, or cell phone use. supposed to be easy A, but was not.

I took Music Theory and Ear Training 1 hoping that it would be an easy A. I was wrong. Webb gives a ton of homework and lots of computer exercises. Hated this class! Definitely had to work hard for my B+ Thought I deserved the A. I would not recommend this class unless you absolutely HAVE to take it.

This professor immediately begins all classes with the belief that all students are trying to pull one over. Does not believe in medical excuses. Is often not present during office hours, and will not help you when he is because you missed one class. sadly, one of only two music professors at this school.

Theory and ear-training was a lot harder than I expected it to be. Webb is very particular (i.e you get a zero if you don't staple your papers). His tests are hard and you have to work fast to finish in time. Do the reading or he'll make a fool of you in front of the whole class. Pretty funny guy though. And he knows what he's talking about.

Avoid taking him at all costs i played flute for 7 years and played with the Pittsburgh symphony. I got a D in his class because of ear training and him not excepting homework when i was ill not even at a reduced grade.

I had taken informal theory classes before this one, so it was easy for me. If you have a background in music or pay attention and do the work, you'll get a B at minimum. Those who say he doesnt care, realize he knows u care even less. I have great respect for him to teach something he knows alot of students at UPJ really don't care about. Thanx

Awesome class. I had him for theory too (which was alot harder), but this class was easy. As long as you followed his rules there's no way you couldn't get a decent grade. Nice/funny guy, really into the class. I highly reccomend people take it if it shows up on the schedule again.
