I really struggled with him. He was incredibly rude and disrespectful. This was an online 3000 level class, but he expected graduate level work. He does not grade fairly and he believes there is only one way to interpret the text: his way. Not a fan. Avoid if possible.

Dr. Taylor is cool, his class may be boring but if you take him for ENG 1020 it isn't difficult to pass. He gives you topics to choose from for the Research Paper. DO THE SUM & CRITS they actually do help when typing the essays. Just show up to class and do what he assigns and you should be able to pass with no problem.

Dr. Taylor is easily the best professor I've had. I noticed some reviews stated he is condescending, and that's not true at all. He's remarkably intelligent and incredibly philosophical and perhaps that makes him seem arrogant, but he's easy to talk to face-to-face. He'll challenge you and push you, but you'll learn more than you thought possible.

This professor was fine, the only downside that I found was the topics he choose for the assignments. I found they were not very interesting. Also for the final research paper you are limited by topics to do research on from a list he had created. I wasn't a huge fan of the research paper topic needing to be similar to someone else for group work.

Tough professor. Very clear and detailed on assignments, expects students to be prepared for research paper. Participate in discussions, response papers, there are three exams, and you will pass the class.

His lectures are long and he gives you a lot of information, but he is an incredible teacher! He gives assignments that matter and tries to get you to be as excited about Paradise Lost as he is. You have papers after every reading, but it is worth it when you get to the test. Awesome class!

What a brilliant and knowledgeable man. He will push you to really THINK. If you insist on being a mindless sheep tossed to and fro by the voices around you, you will have troubles with Dr. Taylor, but if you are truly willing to open your mind, he will change your life.

THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. HE IS VERY IRRATIONAL. He will not listen to anything you have to say and is very rude when talking to you, like he believes he is better than you because he is a professor. He does not do his job right whatsoever. I was forced to drop this course because of how rude he was being.

I met Dr. Taylor as an advisor before taking his class. His lecture style does get a little tangent-heavy but these aspects are almost ALWAYS related to the subject matter if you pay attention. Is a little aloof out of class - if you need help, tap other resources like tutoring or peers. This is not a problem for me, so I really enjoyed the class

I took him for two classes: ENG31294 and ENG 30151 and he does the same for both classes. You have to read or at least understand the readings, because you write response papers for them and the tests require you to know where specific quotes are. He is a big lecturer!

Lots of reading; tests are cake if you read the material. Taylor clearly loves his subject, but he's unapproachable; during class hours, everything seems fine, but if you try to speak to him after class, he's demeaning. He monologues the entire class. I would have preferred a class with a more interactive instructor.

Terrible teacher. Unclear with directions, arrogant and unwilling to listen or help students. He rambles on about pointless things that do not relate to the content, making him difficult to follow for lectures. His tests are more about memorizing lines instead of utilizing content, which is NOT what this course is described as. AVOID.

I was bored to death by some of his lectures and such, but sometimes I found them interesting. I particularly liked his background knowledge of the history of the time, he really knows his stuff. After taking this class I was inspired to do more research on these authors outside of class. And such.

This class ok. I came into this class wanting to learn more about the Fantasy genre pertaining to the Inklings. While I did gain some insight class time was spent listening to lectures that often did not stay on topic; hardly any class discussion. Got marked off for strange things and could have done with more time on Lord of the Rings. Oh well.

Dr Taylor is a wonderful teacher overall. I was initially quite intimidated by him, but he is awesome. He is very smart and expects a lot from his students, but he really helps make it fun when able. He made Chaucer both relevant to modern life and extremely enjoyable.

Very harsh in critisims which takes a toll on the student and the work they will produce. Does not seem to realize that there are other people in Honors beside English majors that may not be as framiliar with what he is talking about.. then makes you feel inadequate because of it. very arogant as long as you are not an English Major then your ok
