Behm is very knowledgeable about Archaeology and loves to teach it. You really have to put in time and study for his classes if you want to succeed. Attendance for non lecture classes is very important as he takes points off for every day you miss, so you have to go to class. Overall he's an okay teacher a best. I would take him again.

If I could rate once per time I've taken a class with him I would count for at least six ratings. Behm is an excellent teacher and a fair grader to be sure. Yes he is older. Yes he can be grumpy and if you're incapable of putting the phone down for an hour he's probably not for you. That said, if you take his class seriously you'll do just fine.

Study a lot; there are a lot of things covered and many appear on the test that he spends little time on. If he mentions it for more than a minute, you should probably write it down (like for monkey dental structure). Tests are curved, but you really should study!

Just an hour of lecture. He welcomes people's opinions and questions. Grades go off the highest points scored. Exams are straightforward and simple questions. Also, slides are posted on D2L but not all of them so make sure you get the ones he doesn't put online. Take advantage of extra credit options

Comment:
Awful professor, unorganized in the lecture setting and provides very limited feedback to students. He is an expert on the topic but he is very closed minded to any type of different opinions that aren't his own. Cuts students off mid sentence before they can finish a thought and tells them why they are wrong. Its amazing this man still has a job.

Don't expect to be able to share you opinion in class (even when he asks for it) without being interrupted, 3 words in. Your opinion is only asked of so he can shut it down. Grade lies only on 4 exam and even if he grades your exam wrong, it's still your fault. Do not waste your time and tears on this class, it isn't anything like the tv show Bones

Although his exams may look intimidating, he doesn't expect you to know everything. The exams are typically 5 sections long with 6 questions each. He only makes you answer one question from each section.

This professor is a JOKE. Took this class because I thought it would be interesting. I would not recommend taking a class with him. His lectures are so disorganized and he goes off topic way too much. No one in my class got an A and he blamed us for it. Whatever you do, do not take his class!!

THIS GUY IS A TOTAL JERK. some kid got SCREAMED at for sending a text 2 mins BEFORE class started for like..5 whole mins. people call him "the nazi." no idea what exams will be on, so just read and reread your notes & your books & hope he likes you, because if he doesn't, your essay answers on the exam will likely "not be sufficient." DO NOT TAKE!!

Prof. Behm is a pretty solid professor. It helps to buy the book but you don't absolutely need it to pass. The only homework you really had to do was to write a short journal on the topics you did and turn it in at the end of the semester. Tests are curves so they aren't that bad. If you show up to class and look over the slides you should be fine

I read the book, took notes in class and studied for class but the tests were nearly impossible. He words questions weird so that on true/false questions one word is changed and will make it false but you think it's true. In addition some of the questions he writes he never lectures on and are not in the book but he assumes us to know.

One of the hardest professors I have ever had. Rants during lectures other than that pretty much reads right off the slides. Tests tend to be difficult. He expects you to answer the essay questions in his own words. His grading process is is different as he grades on thresholds. Every missed class is -5 points against your grade.

Had him for Anthro 102 morning lectures and he is very confusing. He yells at students who just have their phone on their desks, and talks so fast and way to much so you can't get a clear understanding of what he's saying. If you don't print out the lectures from D2L prior to class, you will be completely lost. I ended up dropping the class.

Dr. Behm is one of my favorite professors at UWO. His lectures are thorough on the material and are interesting. His exams are there to make you think about the material, not just memorize a bunch of terms.
