Dedicated prof. knows his subject and students much better than most, but you have to work hard to do well. If your willing to put in the time and dont understand things, he will take the time to help anyone out.

Though I've only had him for 210 lab so far (I'll have Gen phys with him fall 2006) I can definitley say that Dr. Carrier is a tough prof. Don't get him if you're looking to coast at all. However, he can tell when a student is trying his/her hardest and he'll reward it...I got to pick up/meet E.O. Wilson because of him!

It is clear that he thinks he is a great professor (a great everything) and I am inclined to agree. His main fault is test writing--he often gets stuck on a particular question and asks the same thing several different times (which is great if you know it!)

JC is a very good lecturer. He cares about his students if you take the time to show that you want to learn. His tests are on the more difficult side, but there's no way around him if you are a bio major. He's a great guy tho.

The class was hard, but he's a really smart guy and wants everyone to do well...but as a caution to all who take bio 210: you will do horrible on the 2nd exam no matter how hard you study, so just accept it and don't spend 8 hours studying for it.
