Robbins is a wonderful professor! She has very channeling course material, especially if you havent taken AP Bio during high school. However, she gives great feedback and always opens up her time if you need extra help. If you do her pay attention, take notes, and ask questions you will do just fine in the class.

I had Robbins for first year seminar and absolutely loved her. So smart so kind. Definite role model. Loved the class completely and she even took extra time to mentor me and inspire me to reach above and beyond to pick up a minor. What an angel.

Jen is the best & is extremely knowledgeable in microbiology. Its a flipped class where you watch lecture vids online. MUST watch all to succeed. After each section, there are HW Q's and quizzes. You take the test alone and then you can get in a group and take the test again to earn points back. Highly recommend using all her strategies.

I took FYS: Making Babies, and I loved it and Dr. Robbins so much. She's very accessible, a great professor, and a good mentor. You will read a minimum of 6 books for this class. You will have to take very detailed, time-consuming notes to pass the quizzes. You will write 41 reflections and 9-10 papers. IT IS HARD. IT IS TIME CONSUMING. Be aware.

Flipped classroom style - rarely have to read the book. Very quirky and can be quite funny at times. Lots of quizzes throughout the semester which are great grade boosters if you study. Must watch videos to do well in course, but definitely doable. She's extremely passionate and a great professor. I actually looked forward to going to class

Probably the best professor I've had so far. I'd definitely recommend taking Dr. Robbins: she brings a lot of insight to Gen Bio that I don't think I would've gotten from any other professor.

Robbins is an amazing teacher and human being. She makes you work for your grade, but is willing to supply extra help. WATCH THE VIDEO LECTURES. There are quizzes over the topics every class meeting, but if you take good notes, you will be fine. The exams are information and application based. If you do not study, you will not pass.

Dr. Robbins is an excellent professor. She is very intelligent and knowledgeable about the material. The course is very rigorous but if you study to understand the material then you will not find her test to be difficult. Additionally, she genuinely cares about students and is very helpful. Go to her office hours if you experience difficulties.

Dr Robbins is an amazing teacher! Best Biology teacher I've ever had. However, the material is hard, lots of reading. If you are dedicated to getting a good grade you'll probably get a B, A's are rare for this class.

Robbins is very nice & enthusiastic about biology, but her class is quite difficult. So much material is covered in a short time. She lectures with homework videos that are usually 1.5 hrs and packed with info. They are pretty boring, but you must take good notes on them. No need to participate in class, but attendance is key due to daily quizzes.

Dr. Robbins doesn't usually teach Gen Bio I but when she does make sure you get her! She is a great teacher and all the lectures are online which is very convenient and allows you to really understand the material. Biology is a hard class, but if you put in the work your grades should reflect it. Make sure to attend SI sessions and office hours.

This class is really tough. I took it online in the summer. This is the hardest class I've had. Dr. Robbins is funny, but she isn't realistic with grading. Class average was a C+ B-. She expects you to put in 4-5 hours a day. Material isn't difficult, there is just too much material to memorize which makes exams difficult.

Taking individual fall semester research was the best decision I have made at Xavier! It was a busy first semester of senior year, but spring semester was so relaxing! Robbins is extremely supportive, and she makes sure everyone passes senior thesis with an A. I also loved being able to come up with and propose my own research project !
