She's very sweet, but she's a nightmare with due dates. She pushes everything back until you have to write multiple papers in the last two weeks. Some days are optional. She wants EVERYTHING printed out, including the constantly changing schedule. In class she only works on basic English grammar, and her research methods are far outdated.

Do yourself a favor and dont take an english class with Jennie Nelson. She is a very sweet person, she brought us cookies and candy--but she is so CONFUSING, we had 8 weeks to write 1 essay, then 2 weeks to write two more. it was craziness, it may have been bc she got sick in the middle, but it was a terrible experience. would not recommend her.

If you like being guided and having every part of an essay peer reviewed, you'll love this class. If not, you won't. But Jennie (she tells you to call her that) is VERY flexible. She even let us not do the last essay we were supposed to do. And we had a couple of optional class days, which were nice because sitting through the class is torture.

I adored her. She was helpful and honest in her opinions, and was willing to do anything to help. She was funny and enthusiastic and was open to all interpretations of the stories we read. Though I get the feeling that she was getting a bit walked on by some of the students taking advantage of her kindness. Awesome prof., I'd take any class she taught.

This was class was very easy, even if you're not an English major or very fond of the subject. Dr. Nelson was very clear on what was due and how she wanted things done. Not only that but she was very kind, helpful, and approachable. I would suggest taking a class with her if you can!

She is a good professor. The class is very boring, but you'll more than likely pull of a pretty good grade. She has a decent sense of humor. When I took her, she cancelled class a lot, which was wonderful! This class is almost impossible to skip because you constantly have work due.

jennie sucks, i've had her for eng 101 and she is the head of the department for the first english class. She is a nazi when it comes works cited and citations. Get one of the easy TA's and don'e mess with Jennie.

By far the hardest english class I have ever taken. Everyday you come to class you have something due, so its impossible to skip. Whatever you do, don't take the two-hour session!! I'd prefer sticking bamboo shoots under my finger nails.

Jenny is hilarious and very animated. She explains things clearly, and gets right to the point. She gives quite a few quizzes, but they're not difficult. And she ALWAYS lets us out of class early!
