Dr. Bergner is the best! I took her Math 105 class because mathematics isn't my strong suit, and I'm so glad I did. She's very patient and helpful when it comes to anything. There are quizzes every Thursday, but they're really easy if you skim over the weeks vocabulary/work. She gives a little homework each week, but it's totally manageable.

Dr. Bergner is a very kind and fair professor. The class atmosphere is always positive. She has realistic expectations of the students, and welcomes questions. She always informs us about her office hours, and is actually there. Pretty good experience in this class.

I've taken Dr. Bergner for several undergrad and grad classes. She is the best mathematics professor I've had. As a teacher myself, I really appreciate her input that she brings from the classroom as well since she helps out in local elementary schools. I would highly recommend her.

If you don't go to class you won't do well, it's calc! She is super funny and very nice will answer any and all questions that her students have. Very supportive, but the class is tough, have to pay attention. Fair grader and good tests and quizzes, no surprises! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Comment:

Don't let her height, humor, or laid back manner fool you, she really knows her stuff. Quite intelligent, very student oriented, and helpful at explaining things. Her largest flaw is she can go off on tangents when explaining things. Loves to share funny stories, and talk about herself. She's extremely understanding, and forgiving of late work.

Her quizzes aren't difficult and the tests are definitely manageable with studying. She uses webassign opposed to textbook questions for homework too

I would highly suggest taking Dr. Bergner for any Math. She is extremely helpful and her door is always open. Her lectures are very clear. She gives practice exams that are just like her exams. She also grades pretty easy for a math professor. More important, she truly cares about your success.

I have to give major props to Dr. Bergner. As a fifth year teacher and talking to other teachers about their math class experience in college I feel so blessed to have her. Although I worked my butt off on my portfolio and was stupid and took the test instead of finishing it early (got an A), I learned so much about teaching math. Thank you!

It's calculus so of course it going to be hard work. I didn't like only 50 minutes of instruction because she seems to go very fast through things. She does explain everything you need to know, but basically if you need help go to her! She will help you. Had her for 230 also and she wasn't bad. Gives partial credit. I would take her again!

She is a good teacher. She teaches beyond the things you need to know which is good when thinking about being a teacher. The only bad things are that is all group work, so make sure you are in a group you can rely on. Some concepts are hard, so go to class to get all the notes.

I am a third year teacher and I still use some of the strategies I learned in Dr. B's class. I now love math and love to teach math. You work your butt off for this class (portfolio) but it is WORTH IT. Hopefully she still does if you get an A in the class you don't need to take the final. :D

Dr. Bergner is so wonderful! She's sweet and really loves what she does. If you hate group work, well, that's all she does, but you get used to it. Homework is easy because you do it as a group. Tests are based on homework, so it's not bad either. START THE PORTFOLIO EARLY. IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE!
