Comment:
Jen was the most unprofessional instructor I've had at Columbia. While she had useful insight to the biz of screenwriting, she was so unorganized, each class was a grab bag of facts. Her criticism of student work bordered on disrespect. She made no attempt to inspire or encourage her students. Jen also did a poor job of explaining things.

One of the worst instructors I've ever met. She made me believe that I could never make anything of myself, and I cried all the way to the Red Line after every class (I'm stoic by nature).

Jennifer is well versed in the "business". She is very well qualified to teach this class. I learned so much from this class, I don't know why it isn't a required course for everyone. If you work with her, she'll work with you. She's very easy going and doesn't want anyone to fail. I thoroughly enjoyed her class.

Wow! Big disparity of opinion here! "Screen Trtmt & Prest." w/ J. Lauren was indeed, one of the most important classes in the Screenwriting concentration to prepare future screenwriters for the actual "business" of screenwriting. Jennifer generously shares her knowledge of her experience in the industry. A top-notch class w/ a top-notch teacher!

STP = Screen Treatment & Presentation. The reason I am writing this is because I want any and all students wanting to take this class to steer clear of taking it with this teacher. This is probably one of the most important classes you should take. However her absentmindedness, her burst of angry fits for no reason, etc. SHE SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING!

OMG! The worst profesor I had at columbia! She missed many classes! She never returned any work until after the semester ended! She does not appreciate hard work and creativity! She is boring and will give all the class unexpected grades inspite of the school's policy's on attendance and work! PS: These kind of people should not be teaching!
