Great professor! I reconsidered my major after this- and I'm a senior! Goes wayyy above and beyond what is required of her, super enthusiastic, engaging. Wish I could have taken more classes from her.

Love love love this woman! She made me want to be an archaeologist! Incredibly sweet and helpful, really cares about her students and definitely knows her stuff. You get out what you put into this class. Reading is long and dull but you really don't have to do it in order to do well. She isn't a terribly hard grader. Take this class!

Brilliant professor. Her depth of knowledge on topics gave class added dimension. Reading material is interesting. With engaged students, the class was very dynamic (class in mainly discussion based). Highly recommend: Altered States of Consciousness to anyone interested in the topic or anthropology. This class made me consider an anthro major.

felt a little like a high school class. a lot of people weren't interested, just taking it for requirement, which meant few people did reading, so classes were generally boring since no one contributed much and lectures were similarly kind of lame. however, if you get to talk to her outside class, you'll see she's really enthusiastic.

great woman. best anthro prof at pomona, easily. knows her stuff, passionate, but somehow made intro archaeology course boring with lectures. readings were boring. i still like her. she tells you exactly what's expected, which isn't overly much.

She's a nice person but a terrible lecturer. Tends to make archaeology boring, even though you can tell she's enthusiastic about it. There are some great hands-on moments, though. Lots of reading but almost none of it is necessary.
