I took this course Fall 2017. Ms. Shives is great although her class was a bit odd. We were required to go on several outings to museums around Cinci and write papers after the fact on a specific piece at the museum. It was a cool experience but the outings were usually on the weekend. Tests are intense, memorization is required. Projects were fun.

Jenny Shives has great enthusiasm for the subject; which helps because the subject can be dry. She has this soft voice and it's easy to fall asleep. Goes off on the occasional tangent. She's a B teacher; not the greatest but not bad either.Tests are straight forward, no surprises and she gives a study guide. I'd take another class with her.

Difficult teacher for a non-art major. Does not use technology available to her and doesn't answer her emails. Tests are difficult as there is too much required to remember; should give three or four choices and then student would be able to supply the information she requests. Class is boring if taken in the pm -- you will probably fall asleep

should not be teaching a class about women! while the class was pretty easy, it was extremely boring. she claims to not be a feminist, and she actually referred to blacks and african americans as negros! great, nice lady, but shouldn't teach this course

She is super nice. Jenny Shives is probably the nicest person on Xavier's campus...they should call her Ms. Sunshine! The class is interesting and informative. She talks fast...but that's not all that important if you pay attention. The three movies we watched for class were good, too.

the class was pretty boring, but she was soo nice! out of class experiences made it fun (Vatican exhibit and CAC) but you have to pay to go...overall, worth taking!

REALLY boring, had to look at slides all class. only 2 tests and you had to ID the slides which was kind of hard. but she was nice, and it was pretty easy to get a B. mainly just extremely boring...
