Dr Drain was the only teacher that has ever tried to help me when they saw I needed a push or motivation. He really got through to me and I wont ever forget that. He really wanted me to do my best and be my best.

I always heard very nasty things about Drain. I told myself not to beleive them, boy was that a mistake. I studied so much, and I knew the material, but the tests were impossible to understand. He needs to understand that we all arent going to be Microbiologists. I think this class is used to ween people out of their programs. Very hard teacher!!

Micro is a hard class no matter who is teaching it. I can't say he makes it any easier, but overall he is just a regular guy. He could care less about your grade though, and sometimes uses examples that aren't totally clear. If you work your a** off you'll pass. It requires alot of self learning/teaching. One of the hardest sciences at GRCC.

This man can't teach so they made him chair of the department. His tests don't relate to the material & he doesn't use the test as part of the teaching process. He seeks questions and then comes down on those who ask. MAY know the subject matter but can't communicate it. Shouldn't be teaching at a Community College level where people need to learn

I think Prof. Drain has a passion for the sciences, but I think he needs to do a better job of making his class interesting. If you want students to share the passion, you can not lecture straight from the power point. Study your notes and READ THE BOOK! If there is a drawing, memorize it! Not a bad guy though.

he's a very anal teacher. study your notes and read the book! I would not recomend taking this class if you've never had a science before, or if you have other hard classes. THIS guy was a complete a##. I had him for lab and doyle for lecture (microbiology). I got an A in lecture and a C- in his class (lab). What the hell is that!!!that was over 3 years ago and Im surprised he's still teaching. HE SHOULD BE FIRED! FIRED! FIRED!He was condescending and copped an attitude if you asked a Question. AVOID HIM!!!
