I don't quite recall the course numbers since it was some years back but I took several of Dr. Davila's courses for my BA. Few professors in my studies though have been as helpful and passionate in their teachings as he was. Yes, there was a lot of reading and plenty of papers to turn in, however he is very intelligent and easy going. Recommend!

Comment:

It is great to see that this professor takes his job seriously. He covered the material very thorough. Reading the books are helpful but prior to tests and exams, I recommend attending his lectures and jotting down notes. Overall this course was effective. Students learned a great amount.

His lectures are so boring. Hard to follow along and pay attention. Wasn't willing to let me use my laptop to take notes. Lots of reading, have to read to do good. Wouldn't recommend him.

This class has a lot of work, but overall he is a fair teacher who knows his stuff. Was fairly lenient about deadlines, extended the final paper just because someone asked. Good professor, would definitely recommend getting coffee before class, though. Lectures are boring and prety much irrelevant to the exams, but I enjoyed most of the readings. You definitely have to read all of the readings thoroughly to do well, though. Final paper is what killed me in this class.

His class is impossible unless you're an expert on the subject. I would not reccomend taking him for a general elective. Though he is VERY knowledagble in what he teaches, he doesn't know how to bring it down a few levels for those of us that don't know a whole lot about what he's teaching. I had a 4.0 last semester, and now I'm failing this class.

Dr. Davila is all over the place & hard to follow at times but he knows his stuff. Nobody was excited about having to read an entire textbook every other week but we all learned a lot. I learned so much I never knew. & he's a pushover at times. He dropped a quiz & changed a due due bc we begged him.
