Engel is awesome. I can understand how some might think he's a jerk or something like that but as long as you go to class and participate, you'll get an B+ at least in the course. Also, he has a great sense of humor so if you're funny or pick on him in a "good-natured sense" then you have nothing to fear when it comes to any of his classes.

Engel owns. All the people hating on Engel are just typical dumb Geneseo COMN students who can't be bothered to actually read their textbooks. His tests are a little tricky, but if you actually keep up with the reading and participate in class, you'll get a good grade. Funny guy, though, and covers really interesting topics.

every single thing on the test is from the textbook. he thinks he's great an brilliant and its annoying. says "if it looks like a skunk and smells like a skunk it aint a freakin elephant" every class. study hard and you'll do well..grades papers tough.

Professor Engel is just great. He is very helpful and prepares you before asking you to present.Then, goes over the material in class. As long as you go to class everyday, do your reading(he relies heavily on the textbook)and put your best effort into presenting you will be fine. Again,I highly recommend the class. Great professor!

he comes off as abrasive at first, but once you get to know him he is pretty funny and just sarcastic. he does tend to read from the book but genuinely cares about his students. he really is a good guy and i recommend taking his class if you can take some jokes at your expense

He is a blunt, tough, by the book kind of guy. And by "by the book," I mean he reads from the book for his lecture. For an 8:30 class, it is hard to stay interested. His tests are tough, but you'll do good if you study. All in all, he's a good guy who I think really cares about his students. He just doesn't show it in traditional ways.
