This class required a lot of my time. I took Microbiology and Physiology together during the same semester and from this instructor...and I would do it all again. I learned a lot. You should be prepared to attend all lectures and labs and STUDY. It is vital to your success!

This instructor expects you to be mature enough to attend regularly and do your homework/studying. That is a normal part of college. He is a very intelligent instructor and his teaching style is exceptional. I highly recommend taking all of his classes. You will be well prepared for your future.

Be prepared to set aside a lot of time to study. SI (supplemental instruction) is essential to getting a good grade. My best advice is to keep the review sheet handy during lecture along with a copy of the notes that are available during lecture. When something that's on the review sheet comes up, make a note of it and don't fall behind. GOOD LUCK!

What a sexy man! The people with negative comments obviously didn't study. This class is not only a CSU/UC requirement but also a R.N./P.A./DR. requirement! Of course it will be hard! With a little elbow grease and a good and humble attitude anyone can make it through this class! Good luck and keep an open mind :]

This class was a big disappointment. Lectures were boring and read directly from his outlines, which were available online. I stopped going to lecture. The lab instructor was uninformed and the labs were not prepared. The grading was very heavily weighted on the tests. I would not advise taking this instructor for this class.

I took three classes from this professor and found that he provides sufficient resources to do well in his classes. If you want to be spoon fed, this is not the class for you. He gives you study guides which you must know thoroughly and if you put in the study time, you will do well. An enthusiastic teacher, he really knows his stuff.

This guy needs to realize that having a UC/CSU trasfer class doesn't mean that you can stick it to your students with little to no help. Labs were mainly incomplete. The man simply repeats the book in lecture. He seems lost on many of the concepts he is trying to get across. Questions? I had a lot but he sidesteps them like a pro. Goodluck! Try MJC

I have taken Jerry for both Microbiology and Anatomy. He is a wonderful teacher who does not baby sit his students. His classes are difficult, but he provides online lecture notes and intense, thorough study guides with all the information needed to do well on exams. Getting an A in his class is an immense accomplishment.

Excellent class, best general BIO class you will ever take. He is motivated and loves what he does. His tests are VERY hard and there is not any other class points to get. What you get on the tests is what you get in class. Labs are wonderful! He makes time during office hours but questions during class are rarly answered.

Can be a tough teacher and seems like he doesn't care for questions in class at all. His outlines are menotenous and his lectures can be dull and straight out of the book. I got a good grade due to having a good background in biology but good luck to those that are weak in the area.

Not student minded, or considerate. This man should be in scientific research. He is a very capable lecturer, which seems to be his expertise. Needs to care more about teacher/student relationship. He gives absolutely nothing extra points wise and does not consider a good attitude and faithful work to be of any value when considering final grades.

Jerry's tests are way too long for the amount of time he gives you to do them. I am a straight-A student, and I got a B in his class because I didn't have time to finish one of the exams. SO UNFAIR
