Teaches straight from the book. Relatively easy class. Although there are lecture videos posted online, I found them unnecessary since all the information is in the book. There were some instances where my homework submissions were given 0 credit since he mistakenly though it was the incorrect assignment. sending him an email, he fixed it promptly.

Nice guy.Prompt email response. Online course not updated. Frustrating to search for answers not in the current book. Many videos lacked quality. I learned most from the text. My pervious CS knowledge helped. Class would be difficult for someone new to CS. I still recommend Mr. Ross, and this class, but it’s not as professional as it could be.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS! The teacher is great but the information is Greek. Its not what I expected and will walk away not being any more versed in computers than when I walked in. The book is just awful at explaining everything. I've used computers for 20 years and still was confused. Take a difference computer science class.

For every student I have spoken with, there is none that think Ross was worth a hoot. He didn't know his logic gates, binary, he doesn't load the grades in the system unless he gets challenged. I had the points of an A+ grade, he gave me a B because I constantly had to correct his class work. My son decided not to take programming because of him.

Avoid like the plague. Nice guy, but TERRIBLE teacher. You'll basically have to read the textbooks and teach yourself because his lectures are worthless. He is terribly disorganized and you'll be the one who pays the price for it.

Jerry is a really nice guy but I think he knows his stuff so well he forgets its Greek to many. He reminds me of doc on back to the future. He is very willing to help but doesn't because he is so vague. don't skip any classes, or your screwed, and don't think this is an easy way to polish off your last science class, You will be seriously let down!

This was a basic introductory class, but you could of fooled me. He did NOT stick to the curriculum! Way to scare off anybody interested in Computer Science. Everyday was slide shows that he breezed over. Never learned anything about computers. He kept going on and on about flowcharting. If you want to know about flowcharting, take this class.

Mr. Ross was very helpful and understanding with all of his students, never showing favoritism or dislike. His professionalism was high and yet he was still willing to spend extra time with students who asked for it. I look forwaed to other classes with MR. Ross as I know that he will teach me the information and not leave me confused.

Good teacher, could have used more hands on, step by step instruction with the projector. Also, we had some students that would ask questions, then before the Prof. could answer, another student would answer the question, not always correctly, and that was a little annoying. All in all a great class though.

not a very good instructor. cs133 is an introduction to javascript, he taught it like an advanced javascript class. he just isn't a very good instructor and is very unclear while teaching. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I beg to differ. A good teacher if you consider good teaching reading ambiguous powerpoint slides in a monotone voice for 2 hours a day. Nice guy, pretty lousy teacher. He knows html/javascript, I'll give him that... it's just too bad he can't teach it worth a flip. Jerry, lose the stupid author-written slides and teach for God's sake.
