very motivated and pasionate about astronomy. the only con in the astronomy observation classes is they are on the weekend or during holidays. highly recommended.

Comment:

The class is easy if you can stand attending really boring lectures and reading the textbook on your own. The professor is not very helpful in identifying specific things to study, so you have to be willing to study everything in the book for an exam. He can be very friendly if you approach him in office hours, but he is not very nice in class.

His lectures were sometimes hard to follow.-I dozed off several times.. Tests were open book which is the reason I got an A. He's also easy going on the final project. If you meet him in his office he will help you on test related topics.

This class has been the only class in which I was completely surprised about my grade. At first he makes it sound like it's no big deal, come to class and you get an A. I got a B... everybody that I know if that class got a B. I spent a lot of money in this class driving to field trips. I think i earned an A. He is very knowledgeable though!

This teacher is seriously wonderful, he's super knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He takes the class on really fun field trips (they are required and are a couple hours away so if you have transportation issues you probably don't want to take this class. So if you like camping and basically just star gazing this is the class for you!

Professor Schad is amazing! I was not looking forward to taking science but Schad made it very fun and interesting. He wrote the book which is extremely well written and easy to understand. READING THE TEXTBOOK IS IMPORTANT! would definitely take another class with him!

Very boreing topic but he does try and teach it well. As ling as you buy the text book all the tests are open note and there is no homework, he also offers extra credit, this class is very boreing but it does meet all the general ed requirements. He is also extremely helpful if you go to office hours

Really cool professor, he wrote the book you use for his class. He requires 4 open-book tests and 1 term paper or project, the lowest grade of which is dropped. Show up and pay attention in class and you should do fine. If you need help, see him on office hours and definitely have him look over your term paper before you turn it in.

BOOORRING, seriously, I tried taking him multiple times and each time I would fall asleep in his class! I tried so hard, I really did, but he has this way of teaching in a manor where you lose all interest, and even though you try as hard as you can to take notes, you fall asleep, I woke up and half the class was asleep as well.

I loved this class! He wrote the book so the lectures match up perfectly. Gives 4 open book tests and a paper or project. Drops the lowest grade. Also extra credit is offered. Assigns homework to help you learn but does not collect or grade it. Some test questions straight from homework. Awsome class, TaAKE IT!!!

4 open book tests and one term paper, he drops the lowest score. Although the tests are open book, they are 45 mintues long, so prepare. Be aware to find certain things. Tests are somewhat difficult if you know nothing of science. He gives extra credit. Nice guy and very educated in the subject. HE WROTE THE BOOK!!

extremely easy! GET THE BOOK, all tests open book open note. 4 tests 1 project, drops lowest grade. xc opportunities. makes everything SO easy to understand and relateable to everyday life. i am not a science person at all, but i loved this class b/c i understood and it was so simple. no studying needed, no homework. A followon to ASTR101, this class focuses on field trips. These take some time and effort, but you are well rewarded if you are at all interested in the subject. Class project and final are 70% of the grade. Not hard to do well in this class if you put forth a little effort. Excellent instructor who really knows his subject!!

Good class, a little stressful at times because the labs can be long. He wants you to do well and encourages you to understand the lab and procedures. Best part of class was the field trip and his slide show. An A is very possible.

Dude is chill, the 2 written test are hard if your like me and never picked up the book the WHOLE semester! if you can pass those you'll pass the two scantron test and you'll pass the class. i aint gonna say its an easy A but if you put some work in it you can get a B. i got a C but did NOTHING in that class. probably best teach at mesa by default

Really nice guy. Knows his stuff. Lectures are a little dry but tests aren't too difficult if you study. Oh, and ask him about the time he lit his arm on fire with the bunson burner. Scary. LOL.
