Comment:

Professor Skelly is a great music theory teacher. I plan to take piano from him in one of the music classes he teaches next semester. This instructor really engages with the students and cares about the students. His class is always fun and it makes learning a new concept easier.

I loved this class! Mr. Skelley rocks and theory is super cool. I learned a lot. Definitely take this course, even if you don't want to study music long term. It is a fun experience, the music students are fun and enthusiastic and the course teachers more than just notes. You'll love it, its a breath of fresh air!

Jerry as the students are supposed to call him, is one awesome professor. I took his Music Appreciation class as an elective and loved it! He really knows his stuff. I found his lectures really interesting and full of youtube videos and clips. He's got a great projection of his voice; easy for people to hear him. He's a sensitive and caring man.

Great class! You really come out of it knowing what music is and the theory behind it. You don't have to want to pursue a music major to take this course. There is chapter homework and quizzes but thats about it. Mr. Skelley makes everything very manageable through a course that can be challenging because of the nature of the content.

I took every class he teaches. Always there when you need him even today 4 years after graduating I van still turn to him. After taking his music theory 1&2 I was able to test out if 3 years of theory at UMD

great teacher really know his stuff. only drawback is that he can't control his class. i felt like i was back in high school most of the time. and the music room is TINY. 30 kids crammed into a room that should have maybe 15.

hes kinda crazy. boring class, easy assignments, easy grader. the only thing i dont like is the listening quizzes. he makes you listen to a piece of music and know the composer and name of the song. i cram the music in my head the night before, its the only way i pass. easy class tho. good professor

Skelly is a great guy who is knowlegeable in the world of music. But on the side he teaches little kids piano lessons and his childish methods definitely rub off in his professor work. Only theory teacher at 4Cs, so this doesn't really matter though.
