This professor is amazing. He gives a lot of notes in his lectures. But worry not if you happen to miss some of his notes he does a ton of examples on the board of varying difficulties. You can ask questions. Only thing is that sometimes he jumps to answering the question before you can fully ask, just bear with him he does answer them properly.

He talks really fast during class. He does a lot of practice during class but he's the most helpful during his office hours.

I would categorize him under my weaker professors. He has a very thick accent which at time was hard to understand, and he rushed through a lot of material which made it easy to get lost or fall behind. Quizzes weekly.

A respectable professor. Please remember that not all teaching styles work for everyone. Professor Ratnaswamy teaches the methods of solving the problems, then spends the majority of class time going over many similar problems. Works for students that learn through repetition. Will often end class 5 to 20 minutes early.

Ratnaswamy is an all out great professor. In your first week you will not like him due to his thick accent and soft spoken voice, but after a while you become to understand him much clearer. Pay attention to the problems he does in class, and do them in your notes. Usually he let us out about 30 minutes early. 10 Minutes theory : hour of practice.

Does a thousand examples every class. It can get annoying but it helps when you don't fully understand something. Kind of hard to understand sometimes, and he has some trouble answering questions sometimes because he can't find the words in english to explain it. Overall good professor.

Does lots of practice examples in class. Mostly just deals with repetition. Didn't really learn the material or follow text. He will answer any questions you have so ask. Tests are taken from previous exams so practice them ALOT. He helps during office hours and email. Hw and quizzes are harder than the exams, but they small % of final grade.

This professor is one of the best at NJIT! I can guarantee you that because other professors are lacking explanation of topics in DEQ. His whole class is based off doing examples, which is what every professor should do to get the idea of the topic. HW and quiz is given each week. This class has taught me a lot.I would recommend to take his class.

I dropped Calc2 last year since it's a hard class,he makes it seem like a piece of cake. Sit in the front since he speaks softly and writes with the speed of light. He goes over the theory in 2 seconds and then does 100 examples. You learn it better that way. If you miss class don't worry, watch the MyMathL. chaptervideo and go to his office hours.

I had Ratnaswamy for Differential Equations, and simply put: he is the most helpful math professor. He will quickly derive the theory, but almost his entire lecture is spent doing examples, which he we then personally walk around and help any individual with questions. Best Math professor I've had out of my 6 math courses so far.

You have a lot of opportunities to go over specific examples and review questions from quizzes, homework, tests, etc. He's extremely knowledgeable but sometimes I felt some concepts weren't really clear (but you can find a lot of supplemental material online). In all, not the class if you want to understand the theory as he teaches by memorizing

Professor Ratnaswamy is pretty chill. As long as you put in the work and make sure you understand everything, you're on his good side. He does go fast paced, but he does a lot of examples in class and spends at least one class period reviewing before exams. Definitely take him if you can!

Professor Ratnaswamy is a great professor. He does go fast paced, but he also does many examples in class and spends AT LEAST one full class period reviewing before an exam. You do have to put in the work to make sure you understand everything, but it's pretty easy to get an A if you do.

he's a solid prof. lots of examples so you can't get lost. just make sure you have a fast pencil and that you sit in the front. he's speaks softly. his english is above average for a foreign NJIT prof, but it can still get a little confusing. he gives alot of time to review for exams also. solid recommendation

Good: He does a great amount of examples in each class, and is very helpful during office hours. Bad: He works faster than the speed of light, teaches entirely by rote memorization and drills, and his English is nearly incomprehensible. I got a B, but still feel like I haven't learned anything.

Best professor ever. I'm not one for thick accents, which he has, and yet I learned so well from him. He goes through every objective and does an example to show you how to do it & a bunch of examples that you go through and he goes over. didn't even need to study for exams because i learned it all in class. pay attention and you have your A.
