Comment:

If you like lectures, then he is the teacher for you. the whole class is him talking in a monotone voice. He does not write on the board much, no powerpoint, just talking. As a person, he seems nice. As a teacher, your whole grade depends on how good of a test taker you are. Also questions on tests are very unclear.

Comment:

Jim is a very fair instructor, and he absolutely cares about the success of his students. Final grade is based 100% off of your best 2 of 3 test scores - no other points in the class. Do the reading, and study from the book and the tests are manageable. Jim gave me the benefit of the doubt on my final grade.

had him for BUS 216. The coursework is simple; 3 exams and he averages 2 for your final. No homework. He can be vague and off-topic sometimes. Always rambling about cars and tabasco sauce. Easy A, but if you don't like looking at your text book, find another professor. Also, miss more than 3 classes and it's an automatic fail.

James is a great professor, however, because it was a test based class I struggled. Knowing myself I am not a good test taker so I struggled with the tests in this class. He only has 3 tests and he drops the lowest score. The review day before the test is really helpful so DONT MISS REVIEW DAYS!!!!

He's a good guy. Easily distracted and tells of a lot of stories. His tests are unclear and wordy so they are difficult to understand at times. He takes the best two scores out of three of your tests. Business Law is a difficult course for most so I think in general he is the perfect instructor for it. DO NOT MISS REVIEW DAYS!!

He likes to ramble about random stuff during lectures, so make sure to take notes from the book because that is where the tests are from. Also, if you can average an A on the first two tests, he will not make you take the final test, and he will still give you an A.

I owe Jim a great amount of respect. When I started my business in Montana it did not do well at first. I remember Jim ingraining the 4 p's of marketing into our class and I was able to modify my business into a $600k per year business due to his class. He made a abstract business class fun and easy to remember. I had his class in 1990, FYI.

He was a very nice teacher. As long as you attend class and read the book as assigned, you should do well on the test. He does relate a lot of teaching to his own experiences, but I thought some of his examples were helpful to understanding the material. Give him a chance!

He seems like an easy teacher it was just a hard class, Although, he talks about his cars and his own opinion and cliche's too much, hes still a nice enough guy. the tests could use some clarity, and you must read the book for this class to do well.
