My favorite professor I've ever had! He's really funny but you have to get used to his sense of humor. He really makes a relationship with his class which makes for a great environment. He's reasonable when it comes to assignments. As long as you go to class and can write decently you'll be fine. I hate english but I loved the class so much!

My only complaint was that he didn't get out essays back to us. Other than that Coy was one of my favorite professors but it took me a couple weeks to adjust to him and his class as a whole. Tends to get off topic and is really interested in current events and global warming - be prepared for lectures on that. Overall really fun class!

Really great guy-he's there for you. If you need clarification for an assignment, go to his office, he's there to help. He does grade papers pretty slow and takes forever to get them back to you though. Hates Canvas, refuses to use it, so if you want to know your grade, go talk to him. Overall was a good class/professor, would take from him again

Great teacher. Best I've had so far. A little weird and big on dry humor, but this makes the class interesting. Great at conveying information. Great class and assignment schedule also. Would definitely recommend!

Overall, I would say that Mr. Coy is a pretty good teacher. He grades papers at a snail's pace, but gives good feedback. My only big problem with him is that he seems to make fun of running start students. I am a senior myself, but I saw him not just questioning, but often ridiculing students' answers. This made discussions uncomfortable at best.

I took Mr. Coy's class in Fall 2013 Quarter. Mr. Coy has the best social skill I've ever seen. He is very funny and engaging. I loved attending his class. If you ever need extra help you can always talk to him. However, he is disorganized and a tough grader! But I got out of his class with an A. Overall, I really liked the class.

Amazing Professor! I loved Professor Coy! He was very helpful. He helped us to learn how to use the correct sentence structure. I was very happy to find that he would because it was information that a high school teacher should have taught us, but did not. Only difficult part for me was his sarcasm. I am horrible at understanding sarcasm. I also wish he would post grades on canvas and our prompts for essays. Overall, great professor. I would recommend him!

Very passionate about his students and funny. I actually could stand coming to class because ever conversation he starts at the beginning of class is very enlightening. He taught me how to write better and I hope I can have him again as a professor. He grades hard somewhat but pushes students to improve and gives you the grade you deserve.

Great Prof good class you have to come everyday because there's a lot of material that he talks about that will roll over a few days lots of papers and reading and not afraid to call out anyone's BS. If you work hard, the class is easily passable hes very clear in what he wants you to do and helpful if you ask. Definitely a class worth taking

Jimmie is a great guy and know's what he's talking about. He's always willing to help even if you're not in his class. His humor is very sarcastic, but I love it. The only problem with him is that he gets a little behind on grading and organization.

By far one of the coolest people to ever. SUPER approachable. You have questions, he has answers. Really sweet guy with a great sense of humor. The class over all was really easy. You just write like a paper every week or two and he will help you make the paper perfect. Really great class... usually I hate english ;)
