Jim is an awesome professor. He really does care about his students. He does drop the lowest 4 scores for the daily quizzes. You'll pass if you do the homework and show up! I would take him for every math class if possible.

Great teacher. Really cares about you learning and tries to make it fun. The tests and grading are fair. Drops the 4 lowest grades and that really helps. One of the best math teachers I have taken.

I always thought I was bad at math and walked away from this class with an A and an actual, solid understanding of the material. He's present and clear, not a teacher who just scribbles on the board and expects you to keep up. I would take him for every math class I have coming up if he were teaching them. Hands down, best math teacher ever.

Professor Egan was great! Statistics is NOT my thing at all. I needed it for a pre-req and did his online class. I was able to view examples of every problem online, it was easy to navigate, book is online and professor Egan was very helpful and encouraging! I was dreadingggg this semester but it was totally fine and you can do it too! Got an A

Took his blended class. Very helpful teacher. He wants his students to succeed. He gives second chances when the class is not doing well. Two exams are online, two were in class. You can take the online homework and exams 2-3 times. Highly recommend him!

By far the best math teacher I have ever had! I have always struggled with math, but he makes everything so much easier to understand. You can tell that he genuinely wants his students to succeed. He goes over everything you will need to know in class, and posts the power point presentations online. I have not had to look at the book once.

Great professor that responds quickly to any emailed questions. Very obvious he enjoys teaching and makes the content enjoyable. I hadn't had a math class in 10 years and got an A. He is also willing to stay after class to help students.

Excellent instructor. I have a degree here and I'm continuing in other studies; he is the best instructor I've had at this school. Period. Stats can be dry and tedious, but his personality makes it tolerable, and he will go above and beyond to help you as long as you communicate with him.

Hands down best math teacher I have ever had! He grades on effort, if he can see you understand the subject matter, but don't get the correct answer you get most if not all points. Very patient and understanding, i had a death in my family 1 day before the test and he gave me a whole extra week to take it. Very upbeat, and funny, makes math fun!

Fantastic teacher. He always made sure everyone understood what he was teaching before moving on to a new subject. Sometimes class was pretty boring but that is probably because math is boring to me.

Had his online section. I wish I would have taken the mixed section to hear his lectures vs. DVD lectures. Went to a final review and he was awesome. Totally helpful and willing to help. Presents class in a fun goofy way. Statistics is hard, so be prepared for that, but Prof. Egan will help.

He was good at keeping Math interesting but I learned nothing at all about statistics. I think if I would have taken this course with someone else I would have gotten better than a C. If you need extra help understanding Math, do not take this instructor.

Comment:

One of the best teachers I have ever had in my life. I've been spoiled by hearing his powerful, effective lectures, and now nearly all other math instructors seem to pale in comparison. The man is incredibly knowledgeable, and can convey that most difficult concepts with astounding ease. My only complain is that he may explain a little TOO much.
