I really, really enjoyed Jim's lectures and our readings. He graded harder on papers than what I was used to, compared with some of the other English faculty. I really liked him personally, though. The class was great--wish I could have had him for more.

He's very nice, but yeah, it was hard to figure out what he wanted, and our discussions would just kind of go all over the place. I didn't make very good grades in my English (aka major) classes this semester because 2 of them were with him and I just wasn't really inspired to do my absolute best. Plus the prompts were very boring. He's a great guy

First off, he is a super nice person. He is funny and friendly. But his class is kind of annoying. We deal with elementary writing skills and a lot of time I feel like I am doing work with no purpose.

Jim is the greatest guy -- good teacher, likes to challenge your thinking -- it really depends on who you are, though, to determine if you like him. If you're bored easily, he's not the teacher for you, but if you're in to intellectual thought and are prepared to wade through some boring drivel, then he's the teacher for you.

haha his laugh cracks me up! He's an incredibly nice man who is always willing to help you. He challenges your thoughts and makes you think about them. I loved him and he grades based on improvement. Great professor!
