I had Dr. Hartman for the one and only math class I ever had to take at Wooster. While he didn't "convert" me to a lover of mathematics, I have to say that he was one of the most approachable, friendly profs I had while attending the college.

Easily distracted. Dr. Hartman will begin lectures, but never seems to finish them as he likes to go off onto tangents about what seems interesting to him at the time. While this allows for some interesting moments in class, it is not super helpful when preparing for exams. Office hours are very helpful. He cares about students.

I just don't like his teaching style, and I loved the teaching style of my calculus teacher in highschool tho. If you like to spend all of class time going through a proof, maybe one example, and enjoy reading the textbook, then maybe you'll learn something. If you like to spend class going over questions and examples, good luck..

Well, Prof Hartman is something of an enigma. An intelligent professor who obviously is knowledgable about his subject, he sometimes has trouble explaining important points. He also is prone to make stupid mistakes when doing problems.Pretty good overall
