The most crazy, fun, interestng, and info informative professor. You're actually enjoy what you're learning about. You get a couple absences but you wont want to miss his crazy in class antics like singing "respect" or climbing the chairs. For the tests just study whats on the review. I didnt really read any of the books and got a B.

Ive been fortunate to take 3 of my 4 required art history classes with one of the greatest proffesors around. He is a passionate and intense person, and his lectures are well prepared, stimulating and inspired. Its obvious he really cares about his job and his students. The work was tough but that just made it all the more gratifying to do well.

Very dynamic and engaging class, absolutely the best art history class I've ever taken. Exams are entirely based on lectures so take good notes and if you miss class, you better get the notes from someone else because attendance is crucial. Easy A if you listen and take good notes and turn everything in.

Housefield loves to teach, and it shows. He prepares extensively for class, and as a result, his lectures are vivid, clear, engaging and fun. If you enjoy learning about art, you will love this class. He is never boring, and you'll learn about literature, music, film and photography as well the standards of painting, sculpture and architecture.

Very funny. He thinks of new ways to help students memorize works. Tests are hard if you don't go to class. Be ready to write lots of mini papers and study image slides for quizzes. Gives lots of extra credit assignments.

a lot of people really enjoy housefield, i am not one of them. i thought his lectures were sporadic and irritating. by far my least favorite class and teacher. I still made and A despite wanting to strangle myself everytime i was in class. he offers a lot of extra credit "insurance".

I love Housefield too! What I've loved the most about his class is that he explores every area of art, including film and poetry. If you're interested in art history at all you should definitely take one of his classes!
