Pretty chill. No homework except for reading, which can be skipped, and a few reports. Don't expect help by just sitting there, ask for it and he'll come to you. Easily distracted and an easy grader.

I've had him for three classes, all were the same. He was never prepared, no class goal, no grades until last week of classes. He usually gives blanket grades as long as you have turned in assignments. Horrible lectures, drawn out and not useful. You never know where you stand in the class bec no grades. Avoid him.

Kearns is a great teacher. He will go out of his way to help you even if you haven't shown up to class in a week. Overall great teacher, the work is just hard in engineering, thats why people drop.

Worst prof. I have ever had in my life. Late to class every day until I said something to him about it, then he was on time for a week and went back to being late. Not to mention unprepared for every class. Gave a test on reading day because he could not fit everything he needed to do into reg. class time. Would never take him again. EVER!

Dr. Kearns seems to take a lot of time to make sure students are learning. He doesn't let us take the easy way out. I had a previous course with him and feel confident that I still remember the material. I appreciated how he organized concepts.

Describes everything very slowly as if he is teaching a bunch of middle schoolers. Lectures for a long time before actually doing anything, which is really frustrating. Otherwise, he's not bad.

I don't know what these other guys are talking about!? I have always found Dr. Kearns to be very helpful. He does ask alot from students, but you can tell he wants you to learn. He doesn't let you take the easy way of doing problems, but makes you really understand it.
