An absolutely WONDERFUL man, who remains totally objective. He will teach you ABOUT various religions but will NEVER preach about them. It really matters not what you believe: He will RESPECT your faith. But, be prepared to study because he's real "big" on your being able to learn many 'religious' words in their NATIVE languages! Not an easy class.

Taught my mom in the 70s and me in '02. Sooo hard to stay awake, but he seemed like a nice guy. Kinda reminds me of John Kerry, as far as looks/the way he talks. Sleeeeeepy now.....

good class. you get to know everyone and he has guest speakers about once a week. sometimes his class is exciting, other times it's a nap fest. I'd recommend it if you need an easy grade and a gordon's rule.

Nice teacher, quite an enjoyable class. Some guest speakers are fascinating, some not so much. Class discussion is encouraged. Sometimes a bit boring, but overall, little effort.

Great class, great professor. Marsh knows a lot and makes class interesting and fun. No real work that takes anytime - which is great. You do learn a lot by being exposed to various speakers on a weekly basis. You also learn a lot about all your class mates, as the class is all about group discussions.

I enjoyed this class so much--and what a surprise.I took it for the sole purpose of fulfilling a requirement and it ended up being one of my most interresting classes. I think Mr. Marsh had a great deal to do with that. He encouraged discussion and I have to say that he is the LEAST judgmental person I have ever met. I cannot even express how much

Good teacher. Doesn't make a big deal about missing classes or being late. Genuinely cares about students and enjoys passing his knowledge along. Laid back and loves sailing! I definitely recommend taking him to those who need to satisfy their humanities or international-intercultual courses.

I don't think I can properly explain how wonderful this instructor is. He cares about the students on an individual basis/will work with you if something important comes up. The class was wonderful,very easy too. Debate is encouraged. Just do your best and you will succeed. I recommend Religion and Contemporary Society with him instead of Hundley.

This man is so boring that is if he shows up for class. No need to study or take notes. Do not buy the book. He goes over things a thousand times. He retired in 2004 but they brought him back. You can drop one test. You are supposed to have 5 but he rarely covers all the material. He is easy going but a little too old to still be teaching.

Mr. Marsh if very nice and he teaches by talking and explaining instead of just assigning pages to read although some make thing his class is boring but they are very interesting and fun. I recommend if anyone needs an extra credit to take one of his classes I took two and they were both great.

He is one of nicest people I've ever met, I learned a lot about religion on his class, and I think he is a very spiritual and wise man. I think if your thinking of taking this class, take it with him.

Boring! Gives you 10 minutes worth of notes, but takes him an hour to do it. Tests are very easy (except for Christianity) bc he gives a study guide and the answers. His notes are in the ARC Lab as well. No in class participation needed.

Very nice guy, his lecture can go on for a long time but he lets you out early most of the time. test are moderately easy he gives you the notes for the test the class before. but be aware you might fall asleep

Mr. Marsh is a very caring teacher. He knows exactly what he is talking about. He used humor to express the lessons. He made you want to learn about all five of the major world religions. If the chance presented itself, I would love to take him again.
