Best things: if you even pretend to care about his class, he cares about you. Casual & informal with his students. Very flexible and generally chilled out. Worst things: often gives lengthy, philosophical answers to simple questions. Assignments are open to interpretation, so you either nail them and get all As or have no idea what he's asking.

He can be a bit pompous at times and the class primarily consists of class discussions, but you do not have to talk. Coming to class isn't mandatory, but he does take off points off of your final grade if you miss too many classes. His peer reviews are a great way to get feedback. On papers, go to the page limit, make sense, and you will get an A

I dreaded going to this class every single day I had it. I found the discussions to be boring and off topic most of the time. I used to love English but this class made me hate it. He's a very reasonable, friendly guy... but I just didn't enjoy him as a lit. teacher. He's a hard essay grader too. Put what HE wants to hear.
