One day he walked into class & repeated his last lecture. No one dared to speak up. It took 20 mins. for him to realize it based on our reactions - an accurate reflection of Dr. Riley's level of connection & interaction with students. I love PoliSci, but if he'd been my first professor, I never would have taken another class. He shouldn't teach.

Dr. Riley will give you the far right perspective, which is not bad in itself were it balanced somewhat with differing views. If you dare to speak up and question what he says he becomes disrespectful and belittling. Then you will have an uphill battle trying to get a good grade. I speak from experience. Poor teaching style and not helpful.

He is really nice, but I never really knew what to study from for his tests. There are only 4 exams in the semester, no homework, and one paper only. He doesn't really talk about the reading assignments from the book.

Bias teaching. Riley's class lacks any variety. Its straight forward powerpoint presentations every class. There's not point to going because you can just read the book and get his lecture of his site. Its a boring hour to sit and listen to a far right perspective on politics.

classes are pretty easy, but there isn't really a point to going because he just lectures straight from the text. also, he is pretty full of himself.

Very biased teaching. Definitely has favorites and rarely gives a liberal a fair break. Be prepared to work your tail off for little reward, especially if you're a left-leaning woman!
