The course I took with him was only three weeks, but it was the hardest, most exhausting three weeks of my life. He does seem to genuinely care about the material he covers, but he does have a hard time distinguishing between fact and opinion when grading papers.

GREAT teacher. I took 4-5 classes with him over my stay at Stevenson and loved every single one of them. He really makes you use your brain and makes you apply critical thinking EVERYWHERE. It's great. Take his Satire class.

Salvucci is awesome! He definitely made Brit Lit interesting. Grade is out of 3 papers. If you can't write, don't take the class because that is the only thing your grade is based on, your papers. If he can't understand what you're saying, if you can't logically prove your argument, you're going to fail the paper. If you can write, it's an easy A.

Interesting class. Your average for the class can be an A, but he will give you a B if you didn't earn an A on any of his papers. His grading scale makes no sense on his papers... he just puts down a random number... Example: Grade: 75. How is it a 75? He won't and can't explain... he has no subtractions JUST A RANDOM NUMBER

Horrible teacher don't take him - he's awful!!!!!! You can't get an A in the class unless you get an A on a paper. The journals you do help boost your grade, but in the end - don't have an effect unless you're on the end - HORRIBLE AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Jim is a great, funny teacher. His classes aren't bird courses, but he tries to have fun with class discussions rather than lecturing, even though he does tend to talk a lot. He is very helpful although he is somewhat of a tough grader. If you're having trouble talk to him and I think you'll end up fine. I reccommend him to those who enjoy English.
