Dr. Whyte is amazing! I took every class I could from him. He is incredibly interesting and really makes you think. The classes are not hard as long as you try. Plus, he gives you a chance to redo your paper if you didn't get it right the first time. He looks like a serial killer when you first meet him, but he is the best you can take at GV!

A great professor, I wish there were more classes in my major I could take from him, I took away more than any textbook rigid prof would offer. Be prepared to work though, you will get a good grade if you earn it. That's what real life is though, you will get an education. He really was a pleasure to have!

Jim Whyte may be the smartest man I have ever met. While cramped into the tiny waiting room of the doctors office there on Hull he opened a lot of doors for me. The way he approached things wasn't to spit the answer at you, but to let you get there on your own. Fantastic.

I don't know where that person who said Dr. Whyte has something against smart women got it, but I completely disagree. He's very intelligent and interesting, and his social psych class is one of the best classes I've taken in undergrad.

I learned a lot in his class. It's an easy A if you can write well. There are no tests, just major papers to write. He has an odd sense of humor and encourages students to think on their own. Great class!

Great class, great teacher. He is knowledgeable, asks questions to make you think and understand. If you want to really learn something useful instead of just reading a textbook, take all the classes from this guy that you can!

A thinker, and requires you to think. Listens to everyone, even those that blather on like idiots. He listens to arguments, then poses questions to make you think further. He doesn't try to impose his views on you, not even politics, though he could easily.

Being a smart woman myself, I disagree with the comment made earlier. I aced Whyte's class and I think it was because I didn't take HIS arguments too seriously - like has already been said, as long as you can defend WHY you have whatever opinion you're giving, you're golden.

being a guy i can't comment on how he treats women, but I doubt he treats them unfairly. At least I havent noticed it, or heard anyone complain about that. If you can write, you can get an "A" in the course. He is boring, and his favorite word is "widget".

One of the most knowledgeable teachers at grand view, very well read. The comment about him being bigoted is rediculous.

This man is the****! He loves to argue in class, he plays devil's advocate. He states his point of view and wants you to come out with your own. He's a smart man and I have a feeling the person who wrote his last review couldn't prove her arguments better than he could prove his. He has a great dry sense of humor that always keep the topics interesting. If you're going to Grand View it would be a shame not to take a class from Jim.

I would have been more interested had he not made the class completely stupid. His opinons were the only ones accepted as correct, and his is bigoted against women, especially smart ones.
