The lecture is verbatim out of the book. Wastes three classes a week on redundant lectures, which are always behind lab. After you spend your time on redundant lectures, catch up for lab, on all of the unrelated ALEKS HW, you're left very little time for whats important: studying for the EXAMS as well as OTHER classes. Should be teaching HS.

Highly the best professor at UTA, does everything in his capability to make sure students grasp the information. Go to class, read the book, solve practice problems and you should be fine. Lab & Aleks are the worst of this class, however he isn't in charge of either. This class is NOT easy & very overwhelming, however Dr. Rogers is the best

His lectures aren't as bad as everyone makes it seem, you spend A LOT of time on ALEKS for homework and his tests are a bit tricky. But CHEM 1442 is a weed out class so it is going to be hard, just put in the effort to read the textbook and do the practice problems and you'll be set for the class.

THIS CLASS IS SO HARD!! Let me repeat... HARD! Don't get me wrong, out of all the professors, he's the best. However, the tests are ridiculously hard. Don't even get me started with the final. He's great during office hours though, always go to his office hours. Last thing to say, ALEKS HW is the worst, half of the modules aren't even taught. HARD!

Don't expect to earn a reasonable grade unless you quit your job and take no other courses. Purposely structures classes and labs to overwhelm students with junk material that isn't relevant to the exams. The MCAT chemistry isn't even this detailed so makes you wonder why UNDERGRAD GEN CHEM needs to be.

The Aleks takes so much time and the problems aren't on exams. Each lab has 2 quizzes and lecture is always behind labs, so you have to stay ahead of lecture which makes lecture useless. After you waste all your time on Aleks and lecture, you're out of time to work on book problems or study for your other classes. More tedious than highschool

He's a great lecturer and is a nice guy - gives you notes that have everything you need to know. The exams come right from the book problems. Only issue is the UTA Chem dept forces you to do pointless online HW. Tons of online homework that wastes your time because the material is not on the exam.

He suggested I quit my job to have enough time to study for his INTRO class. The book he wrote is so riddled with errors that he had to give us a correction supplement for it. He expects us to learn quantum physics for an INTRO CHEM CLASS, doesn't curve grades, and gives you 50 mins to answer 20 grad-level questions, no formulas provided. Sadistic.

Fantastic lecturer and really wants you to succeed. On top of helping you build great notes, he hosts Problem Sessions to help you study for his tests. He teaches to the test, something a lot of profs don't do! His class is a lot of work, but he is hands down the best chem prof on campus.

This was honestly my easiest class so far. As long as you come to class regularly and listen, and study the past questions behind the textbook (he wrote it so we had the pdf version for free) you'll pass.

Never in my life have I had a better teacher/professor than Dr. Rogers. Chemistry itself is a challenging subject but he manages to break it down and make it easy. He has tons of old test questions he gives you to review, which are the EXACT same format as the midterms you'll take, only the numbers are changed (some are even recycled). Amazing man.

Dr. Rogers is a great professor. He is very good at actually teaching the material, and seems to care about his students. His lectures are excellent. The tests were very difficult and the ALEKS homework program was time-consuming.

Probably the best professor I've ever had. His tests are hard af, but he teaches well it sort of evens out (but not really). Inspirational and makes chemistry fun. The final was the hardest test I have ever taken, even after just finishing OChem 1.

Dr. Rogers is an amazing professor and I'd take him again in a heartbeat. The tests are multiple choice but not easy. Attendance is mandatory and checked by way of clicker questions. The ALEKS program for homework takes a lot of time. He is very kind and easily accessible, always trying to help students do well. He really cares.

Professor Rogers is the best at chemistry; he really enjoys it and makes the class interesting. For tests just study the review problems and you'll do great. I got an A but I would study a week prior to the test. ALEKS homework is going to kill you but do it anyway it helps to prepare you for the tests.

Professor rogers is an outstanding professor and I enjoyed his lectures. I wasn't able to attend all the classes and lab session and because of that I have to redo the class because I need a better grade than what I got. Attending all lectures, problem sessions, reading the book and notes before and after class is recommended. Ill retake his class.

What you need to do to pass: 1) attend every lecture 2) go through the practice exams he posts on BB before the test 3) Go to the reviews held by the biochem society (you have to pay for these but I honestly think it's worth it- I wish I had gone to each one!) 4) go through the study guides in the lecture notes
