Joan is AMAZING inside and outside of class. Her class is never dull (reading material is always pretty interesting) and as my adviser, she has always been extremely patient and helpful in regards to choosing which classes to take. Definitely try to take a class with her while you're a student at Mac!

Joan is my favorite prof at Mac! She is always genuinely interested in helping all of her students and is one of the most intelligent people I've met. She taught me a whole new way to look at the world & constantly makes me challenge the way I have always thought about people, relationships, society, and who I am in the world. HIGHLY recommend!

Kind, helpful professor. Genuinely interested in her students. Good workload (you actually learn from assignments). Though I was originally uninterested in the subject matter, I now really enjoy it. There are no tests, we do reflections and essays.
