Quite amazing Prof. Knowledge of color, amazing! Different aspects of specific color schemes taught, not taught anywhere else. A great inspiration! Still use portfolio to this very day. D & C projects give you cutting edge on art & design career. She is a pioneer in color photography. Feel I have much more creativity due to her inspiration.

While I'm writing this review during her last semester as an instructor before retirement, I feel like she deserves an honest, fair review anyway. Her class isn't easy, nor does it have much room for creative freedom, but as long as you show up every day and at least try on everything, you should be able to walk out with a passing grade.

Doing the projects in class is like living in hell, she doesn't let you express yourself and only cares about her own views on art. As far as grading she's fairly easy on it unless she doesn't like you.

Her class is unbearably boring. Work is tedious and could take 10 minutes on a computer. No electronics in class. Attendance is mandatory. Don't ask questions, she'll just change her mind on what she said when she's grading. If you follow directions, she'll most likely give you an A. Be prepared to spend around $100 to $200 on supplies. Easy A.

Don't get me wrong, this class is hard. She will warn you before you take this class. You need to have money to buy the supplies and you need to love art. Take this class if you actually want to learn how to make art, not for an easy A. You'll be surprised what you take from this class.

She gives a lot of tedious work and requires you to buy a lot of supplies. She grades your work based on whether or not it suits her taste, not if you did the work correctly. She leaves very little room for creativity. Her classes are super boring so bring an ipod but don't get caught. I do not recommend her, neither do the other art teachers.

Salinger's class was pretty easy, as long as you try your best at your assignments you will get an A. I thought it was really fun but its because I had friends in the class. She is sometimes strict and if you want to get on her good side ask her about her cats haha she is obsessed!

Teacher is alright. She's just picky but as long as you do the assigned projects you'll be fine. Also bring an ipod in class, ur gonna need it. Also if u want to save money...buy the whole materials during the sale at art supply warehouse. It helps a lot.

whatever you do, please, never, ever, take this class with this teacher. I had to re-do the first project we did 4 times and not bc it was done badly, Oh no! It was just bc she didnt like it. Oh yeah and she swears she taught the first digital photography class IN THE WHOLE WORLD! wow! and she also did this before digital cameras were invented!

I spoke to this teacher and she has never seen this website. This teacher has an injury with potential litigation from many years ago. She is a really easy grader. I don't know if she gave anyone a D, the lowest I've seen her give is a C, and that's for incomplete assignments. If you are going to take her class you will need a lot of patience. She is a nice person. DON'T buy the utility blade, just borrow hers. you only need it for 1 project.

I Have found this teacher to really be a gem.I have never been good at form and design. Prof.Salinger has really helped me open my eyes to art.Her Methods are really strong in relating to students,and her structure is really great.PPl say bad things about her. Worst. Worst. Worst professor I've studied under at occ. All criticism in-class will be opinion based, rather than based on a stand-point of good design. stupid assignments that may stress the importance of design, yet the way you're told to execute them is more or less a "do as I do" form of learning.
