Talks faster than i can think, write down every single word she say, study for a week and still will probably get a 75 because her test are so long so you really have to fly through.. Her multiple choice are a guessing game especially when pressed for time, drowning the entire semester. This is coming from someone that got an A in organic chem

Gave gorgeous lectures . If you study your notes regularly and clarify any questions with her/other classmates, you will succeed. Gives bonus point opportunity and presentations to buffer grade as well

Being an excellent professor requires a commitment to students, a slow, clear, and concise method of presenting material, and fair testing of the latter, with ample opportunities to boost grades. Dr. Wasilewski does NONE of the above, and is therefore not an excellent professor. I put in more than my normal effort in this class, but still failed.

Teaches as if you already know the material. Rather condescending, makes what should be an interesting class painful. Trick questions on tests, poorly worded questions, some of which are completely out of left field.

Waz is probably one of the smartest teachers at the university, but she's not a great teacher. Kind of dismissive when you ask questions. Test questions could be worded so much better. She gives extra credit throughout the semester. If you're pre-med you have to take her. You do learn a lot.

She can act difficult at times and equivocates questions about what she is going to put on exams. her powerpoint note packets are helpful provided you take additional notes on what she says. sometimes she'll mumble the important stuff which can be irritating. group presentations are a source of extra credit, and the final is usually optional!!

Explains material well and knows a lot about Biochem. You will learn a ton if you work hard and she is a fair grader. However, going to see her during office hours and actually interacting with her is a different story. She is very condescending and purposely tries to intimidate you. Not friendly AT ALL either. In my opinion, take Dr Foley instead.

Dr. Wasilewski's class is tough but fair. Tests are quite long so work fast. She is good at teaching certain topics but half the time in class I was completely lost. I recommend watching online biochem lectures and reading the book if you want to do well. First 2 exams are hard, third is easy. The final is optional. Overall pretty good class.

Somewhat of a rude woman but a decent teacher and the class is not that hard if you keep up and know your stuff. Tests are long, but certainly doable. The final is optional. My only complaint is that it is very hard to get a solid A in her class. An A- is doable with hard work but an A is nearly impossible.

Wasilewski is the best. She is probably the only science professor at this school that is actually down to earth. The material is tough but she makes it manageable if you are willing to put in the work. Tests are difficult but fair. She is very approachable and knows everything about biochemistry. A true genius.

Nice Lady, boring professor. Her method of teaching is pretty terrible as well. But compared to Organic this class is significantly easier, especially her exams. My advise is to use her notes as a guideline as to what to study in the book b/c her teaching is horrible. She is more helpful if you go to her outside of class.

Great teacher- teaches the class the same way it is taught in med school to prepare you well. Read ahead, take good notes, and get help when needed. The class is hard but Dr. Wasilewski will get you through it if you work hard. Overall, an excellent survey of biochemistry

Needs to stick to research as I lost knowledge attending the class. Lectures are so scattered, they are impossible to follow and everything is said as an aside. Tests on things that never have been uttered by her, nor covered by the book. Trick questions don't test what one has learned.

Enjoyed both her and the class alot. Yes, she is all over the place and things don't always seem to mesh toghether, but you must look at the big picture. Now in graduate school at UPENN I know the true rigors of biochemistry. Her course is a survey, and a damn good one. Take her if you have the oppurtunity-you wont regret it.

Those who think she's a terrible teacher must have no sense of what's good/bad for them. She's a challenging teacher, but at the same time, she's the best. If you want an easy A, don't take her. If you want to learn, there is no better choice. Bottom Line: She dislikes lazy ppl, if you are smart, you'd know what to do.

Difficult grader when compared with Dr. Foley for 450 but her grading and the class are not as bad as people say. Study, sit up close, and ask lots of questions. Overall a better teacher than the numbers here lead you on to believe.

Excellent class to take. Especially being a first year med student. It's just too bad Dr. Wasilewski isn't the best teacher for the class. Take the class, but don't look at Dr. W as a role model for other teachers. "Coopperate and graduate" is the motto for her class.

After taking biochem in a medical school environment, Dr. W's class looks easy. Don't get caught up in the little details and make sure you understand how everything fits together first. If you understand it, you can answer the essays easily.
