AU17. Midterm is easy but tricky, open-note, open-book, open-technology. Plus, she is funny on a regular basis, and laid-back (She doesn't care about attendance and deadlines for the Project Steps and Projects). I did learn something in VHDL & Hardware programming. 10 invididual projects, 1 homework, 1 midterm, and a big team project!

AU15. I really enjoyed this class. She tries to make jokes and make the lectures interesting. You start out doing state machines, but then you do the modern methodology, with VHDL and simulating things. You end with the Microbaby, a microprocessor comparable to the first ARM chip, which is pretty cool. Open note, open technology exams and quizzes.

She's nice, but no help, and more disorganized than a trailer park after a tornado. She reads the misspelled, worthless, and often wrongconflicting presentations to the class and then talks about her washing machine. I came into the class with a better understanding of MCUs than when I left. Take if you want an A, avoid if you want to learn

Super easy class, exams are a joke. Go to class don't go to class it wont matter just do the homework and go over the slides. Degroat is an incredibly slow teacher and is never very clear.

Professor DeGroat is very kind and knows her stuff regarding VHDL. I wished that she was more helpful outside of class, but overall I really enjoyed her. She is pretty flexible with assignment due dates however they took me quite a long time to complete and they were due every other class. Overall, I would recommend. You get out what you put in.

She doesn't curve.The midterm was hard,it depended on the book,but it was open book but you have to be familier with the book because you don't have enought time and there is a lot of writting. Final was very hard it depended a lot of codes.She had a pop quiz in the beginning of the 2nd week.Another quiz depended on some guy who gave a lecture.

Every day she tells the class stories of her life. On the days where the TA teaches, she constantly interrupts him. I must admit that this is the most uninteresting class that I have ever take and it is a real struggle just to show up and stay awake,

The quizes were easy but you have to know what's going on.Read through the slides.The tests are harder than the quizes.lowest quiz dropped 15% homework 15% quizes 40% midterms(2) 30% final.40% of the final and midterm 2 were sequential circuits from just state table and state diagram so you have to know that.
