If you're able to, do yourself a favor and don't take a class with this guy. He doesn't care if you pass or fail; his notes are outdated, he is BORING, and in the few interactions I've had with him, he seemed to be very stuck up and rude. Study guides don't do much for the exams either. Lectures are very dry but if you do your best, you'll pass.

Lectures were boring, everyone was always on their phones. The quizzes were SUPER easy right from the notes. The exams were a wild card, look from the Power Points when studying. The study guide was NEVER specific and he never says what the exam is really covering. Do NOT recommend taking if it's an elective

Quizzes are open till noon such an odd time. Every professor I have ever had follow the same format of being open till 11:59 at night this was inconvenient. There is a midterm, final, 11 quizzes and some discussions that are only worth 10%.... If you test poorly your screwed and he doesn't care

He does not care if you are struggling and if you email him he will out right ignore you! So unprofessional whats the point of teaching when you are unwilling to help students understand the material.

I'm not much of a complainer but this prof and class really suck. There are 3 exams and weekly quizzes. Quizzes are straight from powerpoints, but exams are just unreasonable. Gives lengthy study guides that are of little to no help. I studied hard and still failed 2 out of three exams. I'm a good student but found this class ridiculous. AVOID

Dr. Kayany is a very nice, respectable man. He is great at speaking and presenting his lectures. The grading for the class is a simple 80 exam 20 quiz. Getting a good grade in this class is HARD, so beware. The trick is just study the power points when the time for quizzes and exams come. Don't bother with the lectures. The content is REALLY DRY.

This professor was not clear as to how the class was to be graded; too much information to soak in and final exam is cumulative; professor also did not respond to email concerning meeting outside of class because of conflict with office hours and claimed that an email was sent on his part when it was not. Will not have this professor again.

This class is horrible. We barely focus on the broadcasting aspect at all. Instead the course is designed to teach you about the telegraph, morse code and inventors of radio, television, FCC and so on. This prof. is extremely boring and hard to pay attention to. You are also only graded on exams so if you don't test well, good luck trying to pass.

If you pay attention in class through his very dry lectures, you will actually do well on the exams. He wasn't my favorite prof by any means, but I don't think he was inadequate at his job-- just very average. If I had to take this class again, I'd still choose this professor.

Quizzes were extremely long and difficult. Felt like not much came out of the book and the lectures he posted online, I felt as though I had to look up a lot of concepts on my own online before the quizzes. Quiz and exam questions were sometimes difficult to understand, and very vague. It was a tough online class.

quizzes are now 5 questions a week. Study guides do not match quizzes. Format of class is overwhelming. He does not like to meet face to face with students, was intimidating. While I appreciate the effort of getting a PHD, he would probably more fulfilled by choosing a different profession.

Lectures are extremely boring, and long. Quizzes are given every week, and they are 30 questions long. Test are extremely hard, I studied and only got C's. The final is cumulative. DO NOT take unless you absolutely have to.

Horrible professor. Online course but had 2 hour time slots 10am - Noon to complete large exams, not able to negotiate due to work schedule. Could not get any media content to work so he just removed it. Could not get discussions to work, so most of them were also pulled. Very poor experience.

Materials in the course were easy to read through. He gives notes on the topics before the quiz.. but the quizzes are random lengths each time (anywhere from 15-60 questions). Final has pretty clear, easy information but is 200 questions.. hard to finish in the time limit online.

incredibly easy course if you go to class, but you don't even need to. a quiz after each lecture, but its 15 q's and pretty easy if you take notes. tests are easy have gotten a B on each and barely studied. not the best or most interesting class but its an easy A if you try

Took web design hoping I would learn something about...web design. Instead I learned how to create a website that looked as if it was straight out of 1995 in a horrible computer lab in the depths of Brown Hall.

The prof was pretty bad. He flat out told us his english wasn't good. He relied on ancient powerpoint slideshows. On at least 2 occasions that i remember he started a DVD (from the 90's) for the class and took off. Also pauses after every bullet in slide, makes lectures extremely boring. Make sure you have a LARGE cup of coffee with you..

Awful professor. broad study guides and exams were not at all what I was prepared for based on quizes and lectures. Was extremely rude to me when i kindly voiced these concerns. i would HIGHLY suggest not taking this class, especially if it's just for a GEN ED. I feel exams were confusing and far more in depth than the lectures. I'll probably fail.
