Absolutely AWFUL professor. He is rude to students, and subjectively hands out grades. I had a B- as my final grade, but when I went to him asking to see a breakdown of my grades, he refused to show it to me, bumped my grade to a B, and told me I was getting nothing higher. Unfortunately he's tentured so the math dept couldn't do anything for me.

This man is my favorite professor at Penn State. He is hilarious, and really loves math. For the honors section, we did the course work the first three days and then had "Fun Fridays" where he talked about interesting stuff relating to math. I would recommend this class to anyone. Just make sure you do practice exams and problems and you'll do fine

By far the worst professor I've had at Penn State. Barely learned anything and got tested on material he never covered. He also grades "individually". So if you wind up taking him, don't argue your grade, even if you think he graded you unfairly on something

This man is a genius. He's hilarious too, even though he may not realize it. That being said, I would only take his class if you're fairly comfortable with math. He's not the most useful for people who are struggling in the class, but if you usually get stuff the first time around, you'll love him. Get ready to be mind****ed on "fun fridays."

Joel is hilarious, but not a good teacher at all. His lectures are confusing and more than often you sit there staring at him write gibberish on the board. He makes some great quotes, but his teaching is horrible and you're going to have to learn a lot on your own

He is terrible. His grading is completely unfair..and you would think math should be objective. It's not with Joel. He is also degrading and told me I needed humility when I simply ASKED why I got a problem wrong. His teaching has gone downhill this year because he's not allowed to do research anymore and he's taking it out on his students.

joel is a pretty funny man, but his teaching is horrible. all lectures and examples are directly from the book. he answers most questions, but when it involves more than a few steps, he says he doesn't feel like doing the work to show you the solution. and when you don't understand a problem or guess an answer, he says you need to use your brain.

Although funny and personable, Prof. Anderson has no idea what he's teaching. He goes directly from the textbook and barely understands the concepts himself if he even does understand them. If a hard problem or question arises he tell you to "punt" rather than explaining the question. Attending class actually confuses you more than not attending.

This guy is hilarious and doesn't even realize it!!! is classes are fun, and... no homework. Of course, if you are like the person two spaces down from me, and didn't take AP calc in high school, you will struggle. His lectures can get a little confusing, and he doesn't curve exams, unlike most honors professors.

A fun and intelligent man, he made class very interesting. He's always offering to help those who don't understand. His handwriting can be hard to read, but all you have to do is ask him what he has written and he'll clarify. He takes great pride in knowing his students understand the material.
