Comment:
Great professor, he's pretty lenient on deadlines for papers and assignments which is nice. I had him for Criminology, which is his specialty. It was a very engaging and interesting class. He's very intelligent and can make you feel a little inadequate at times. He's also very blunt which is a little intimidating. Without the books you will fail

Professor Eigen is one of the most passionate and brilliant Professors at F&M. History of Soc. Theory with him was the most engaging course I've taken in all of college, and Sociology of Law with him is equally as interesting. If you can, take any class with him; the work is manageable and he is always fair.

He is THE BEST professor @ F&M. Brilliant, energetic, and passionate. If you are able to, do take his class. You will be better for it. Soc Theory was especially eye opening. Crim was fabulous as well!

Absolutely amazing! A fair amount of reading, but he makes it interesting and crystal clear in class. If you screw up on one exam but do better on the rest or show progression he will most likely disregard the bad exam and give you the grade that truely fits your academic ability. Very approachable and always willing to help outside of class.

Honestly, one of the best professors on this campus. Explained material very thoroughly. Very interesting readings, paper topics. Exams were very fair, short answer/essays on exams required you to 'think out of the box'. Brilliant guy, but what about his evil twin Skippy?

Criminology was incredibly interesting (I do give most of the credit to Eigen for this) but there is just something about him that freaks me out. Also, he's not very helpful in office hours--he says everything is fine and then gives you a "B". Overall, take the course because its worthwhile.

Best prof I've ever had. Sometimes makes you work, but it's worth it. Classes are like storytime...there's hardly a boring moment. He gives 5 minute breaks in his hour and twenty minute classes and knows how to keep people alert and engaged. TAKE HIM!
