Do not buy any of the books. You will never need them. Joel tries his hardest to make the class as easy as possible. I could not tell you one thing that I learned in the class, and I got an A-. Super boring subjects, but the way he teaches makes it interesting. Very energetic and passionate about his job. Easy to listen to. Highly recommend.

Joel Lewis is the prof to have for any 100-level History course. He lectured the material down at a student's level (including the occasional use of foul language to prove his point). Joel is also very willing to work with his students and willing to be flexible with assignment and test dates. Excellent Prof!

Lectures are entertaining, utilizes technology in a way that makes it interesting. If you have problems, he's easy to get ahold of and helpful. As long as you take notes or know the material, you shouldn't have a problem, but this is the case with pretty much any class. Good class to take, very interesting.

Jesus, I see the Republican idiots have posted their rubbish on here. Just b/c someone doesn't agree with your politics does not make them a bad teacher. What makes a bad teacher is...well go take a class with Schmeican...arrogant jerk.
