Comment:
Professor Styron is a good professor. He is not going to spoon-feed you what will be on the tests; therefore, you have to work to get a good grade. Read and outline the book chapters, and review the powerpoints and you should be fine. Also, don't miss homework because it really helps to have a 100 in that category.

Too many people were scheduled for his class so some of us had to take the course online. Definitely read the book to understand the material because sometimes his lecture slides aren't very clear at explaining concepts. Test questions are sometimes the same as the homework questions, just with different numbers.

Professor Styron is not a good professor. He posted his lectures online but it was just him reading the slides from his power point without explaining the concepts. His tests are tough and you have to be prepared to study a lot for them. He also has 3 research projects but those are super easy. He has been my worst accounting professor this far.

He is an awesome professor and covers the material just as a college professor would. He introduces the material and at home you need to figure out the homework which is the best way to get an A in this class. Tests are exactly like homework problems.

He has been my least favorite accounting professor so far. When he lectures, he reads directly from his powerpoint very quickly making it almost impossible to keep up. I would not call him a teacher because I feel like I have not learned anything from his class. Be prepared to teach yourself. There is no connection between student and professor.

I took the online class during the summer and absolutely hated it. I love accounting and I didn't learn a thing from it. Two tests and two homework due each week that were very time consuming. I made an A in the class, but I spent a lot of my summer stressing about it. If possible, avoid it.

Do not take the accounting class online in the summer! Extremely fast paced!! Two homeworks and Two tests due every week. Didn't learn a thing just had to get through with the assignments by guessing just to have it completed on time. He did extend several deadlines, but was still tough!

He is one of the best in my opinion because he challenges you to think outside of the box and not inside of the book all the time.

The only good thing in this class is the ability to use your book on the in-class tests. The online assignments are pretty easy, but the in-class test is more difficult, even with the book. He is very helpful, if you ask. Overall, he's pretty relaxed and easy going, which is nice!

One of the few professors at ASU that does NOTHING to prepare for class past making a syllabus. Do'nt take if not a Math geek. The flawed online tests asked questions not like anything we've done in class or homework. Half of my tests had faulty questions and by the final he still hadn't credited me those points. Asked for help and got nothing!

His online system is nuts. I don't think I've taken one single test or homework assignment that didn't have errors in it. How's a guy supposed to deal with that? Besides, the material covers just the very broad jist of things, while the tests only cover little nit-picky exceptions that weren't mentioned. And using the online thing takes forever

I took him in the summer, and I liked the guy. Yeah, I agree he doesn't teach that much during lectures, but we are adults in college. We are not supposed to be spoon fed. The online tests and assignments are NOT that hard if you read your book! I enjoyed his class and am taking him for 2 more classes in spring!

Not a good teacher. He doesn't teach at all. Online tests are open book but extremely hard. He doesn't explain anything. Expect to spend lots of time with the online tests and not to learn anything in class. Take Jeff Miller instead.

an absolute nightmare if you want someone who will teach. online tests are miserable. one straight a student in our class spent 3 hours on one of these open book tests and got a 50. don't take if you are expecting a teacher

His accouting class is online, meaning tests, homework and everything. He treats you as an adult, so reading and completion of assignments is a must to do well. Pretty easy though! Attendance isn't a MUST, but does help somewhat! Better than MOST!
