it was a j-term class, so it was kind of short, but we did a lot of good stuff in class, especially discussions. John is a great prof. he's funny and his class was interesting. we always tried to incoprorate Christian faith into the topic. i'm sure that i'll be taking another one of his classes in the future

John is a great guy. The class can become repetitive, but you can see he has a passion for the subject matter. A lot of reading involved, but I guess you'll find that in most FYS classes. Overall, he is pretty laid back, easy going, and funny. Very honest and open about himself.

He's just a really nice guy, he put a lot of time into his class and he's really helpful...he had us over to his house to watch a movie, brought food for us, just generally really cared about the class. I'm not sure if he's teaching it again next year, but i definitely recommend it to anyone.

Class is really fun - we watch a lot of videos. But he does expect you to do your reading - that's what the tests are on. And don't be fooled by the word 'quiz' - they are 45-50 multiple choice exams. They're usually not too bad though, if you study well
