I really enjoyed his class. I feel like it was very important to attend the lectures and take good notes. The tests were much more closely tied to the lecture rather than the textbook. I only used the textbook to complete the homework.

I took him online and he was very organized and made it clear what he expected of us. There was the same assignment every week for different chapters (read chapter then do assignment) and it's just a website where you complete it till you get a 100%. Easiest class I have ever took. I received a 98 in the class only because I made a 75 on one test.

Dont take it during the summer time because he does not give enough work to bring up your grade if you do terrible on tests. He also makes us pay $120 to do and turn in homework online.. He can defiantly us a different system for the way he teaches.

Comment:

Economics is a dry subject so it's hard to get excited about this class. It was all online, lots of work, 4 exams. As long as you do the discussions and homework you will be alright. Tests are challenging, but you get 2 attempts at all of them. I worked my butt off for that C, but I learned a lot along the way. My GPA is 3.67, just FYI.

Mr. Atkins is accessible, nice and helpful. I took this course online. It was one of the more difficult for me and required a lot of studying for the tests. You are given two attempts at tests and get to keep the highest score which saved me more than once. Disappointed he does not offer extra credit which could have helped me achieve an A.

This is a good professor. Dr. Atkins is clear about what you should expect in his class. If you do the work you should make a good grade. The subject matter is not easy. Just do the reading and assignments and you will learn a lot. His discussion posts are challenging, however, he respects your opinions and grades easily.

I took him for Micro and Macro and made a B in both. He lectures and writes what you need to know on the board every class. If you take the notes and study them, you will pass the class. He also gives a review before every test, so you know what you need to study. Economics is just a hard class for me in general, but he's a good teacher.

He really knows his stuff! I took him online but the work is simple in my opinion. No homework just discussion question every week and 3 or 4 tests. He grades your discussion by what you got out of the chapters for that week. Just read the chapters and write what think it was talking about. Print and go over the study guides and you'll pass...

Never had any basis in economics at all and he was very helpful. Very nice prof and did everything he could to help you out. He does his lectures straight from the whiteboard but does some online discussion questions. 4 exams, including midterm and final. They are somewhat long and hard though, just make sure you study the notes and come to class.

Took this class online. He give you ample time to do the homework. Don't really need the textbook because its provided online. If you do the work you will pass the class. Only gives 4 exams which includes the final. Great teacher and no guessing on what is expected from the student.

AMAZING teacher. Really explains the material so well. Test questions come straight from the lectures so you don't need to read the book. Does a review the day before the test that really helps. Definitely recommend him, especially for people who aren't too fond of economics.

Great teacher,he only teach what is relevant from the course. You only need to pay attention to the lecture and I love his style because I am not a textbook person. I find that teacher who depends heavily on textbook is time consuming and confusing because of too much unnecessary details that clutters my head.He is an excellent teacher.

Very good teacher. Lectures are long but informative. He doesn't use the book very often but it's still worth purchasing just in case. Don't miss class is you can avoid it, you'll be completely lost when you come back. Class work is not difficult and as long as you pay attention, you'll do well.

I took Macroec online with Mr Atkins and am now taking his Microec. I like having Mr Atkins as a professor for a few reasons: he gives you ample time to do the work, and he keeps his courses simple and his expectations clear. I've only needed to contact him once so far. Basically, just do the work and you'll get an A.

This was probably my most difficult class to understand that I had, for some reason my brain didn't wrap well around it, but Prof. Atkins was great. He gives LOTS of notes every class, but he's clear and will explain everything. The first test was super hard, but he does curve grades and give extra credit possibilities. I liked him!
