It's nice to know that things haven't changed. I had him for a database class in the early 90's, and he was hard but I learned a ton. He inspired me to go to grad school and I've had an excellent career. The people that are complaining that he's too tough might want to think about a different major.

I learnt a lot in this class about database design using Oracle 10g and that is enough to get you through the basic Oracle certifications as well.

VERY difficult class, but Atkins is an excellent teacher. He presents the material pretty well, but if you aren't willing to put in an effort outside of class, you will struggle greatly. Definitely not an easy A, but you will learn something from him. One of the best teachers I've had at WVU.
