I am scared to speak publicly but he actually helped ease me into it the "projects" were very easy if you actually did them and he has years of experience. You basically show up listen and preform if you are doing that and at the minimum you'll get a B.

By far the best Professor at Monmouth. If you have the chance take Burke. You will learn more in his class than you would in 5 classes by another Professor. He has so much experience in the industry and teaches you how to be successful in life. Great guy

It's an acting class. There is memorization involved, and the classroom material is a piece of cake. He is just very cynical and nasty at times. He makes you feel dumb, and like you are not good enough, but it is an easy A. Just rude, and intimidating.

I'm amazed Doctor Burke is the theater chair because I feel those who are under him, are far more qualified for the position than him. His choices within the theater are very muddied and unclear. Being on his good side is good for you casting wise, I need not say more. Nice man, funny, gets off track a great deal, passionate, but something's off.

Very easy-going professor and class. Sarcastic sense of humor that can offend some who don't get it..but overall he was a fine professor. Acting for non-majors was a fun and enjoyable class, and not hard at all. Be prepared that you have to recite a monologue as the final, but it is not as bad as it sounds.

Dr. Burke is a complete ****. He knows nothing about how to run a music/theatre department and why he is still at Monmouth university is a mystery to me. He's rude and arrogant for no reason. The only reason MU puts on decent shows is b/c of other member

it's an ACTING class. how you can get lower than an A is beyond me. just go to class, i guess if u decide to skip class once a week you might end off with a lower grade but that has nothing to do with the teacher. just go to class, do what he asks, you don't have to be a broadway actor or actress. just do what u have to do, simple

i give burke respect in the classroom. he's a good professor when it comes to teaching his students, but as a faculty member he is completely disrespectful, unhelpful, rude, and too cynical. if you're not a music or theatre major he'd be a great guy to learn from. but ask him anything outside of his classroom and you'd think he was the spawn of sat

Dr. Burke loves to hear himself talk, although, he often doesn't use correct English. He knows little to nothing about acting and even less about music. His department has put on some very good performances seemingly despite him. Thankfully, he's surrounded by a wonderful faculty.

Burke theater class is so much fun. All you have to do is see two plays and a few two minute skits and a final monologue reading. It helped let go of my fear of public speaking. He is really sweet and the class is a breeze. I got an A for the semester.

I have Burke for acting. He'll get you started and opened up in TH251. He's good and has a lot of stories to tell. I don't know if there is another teacher for acting, but he's a good one! He'll point out yout strong and weak point, what to work on, and anything else you need.

The guy is quite boring, but tries to keep you interested in what the lecture is about. Not alot of work...final was a complete joke. Take this guy, it'll be well worth it. Easiest A I've ever gotten.

Dr. Burke screwed me out of many steps ahead in Theatre. I feel completely robbed of my ability to have used my talent and I got the minor in musical theatre.
