Grade consists of several quizzes, 3 exams and a final. Quizzes, exams and final are difficult, but not unfair. Hes a lenient grader. Allowed 3x5 notecard for us on Exam 2, 3 and final. No WebWork. Professor Leonard and Organic Chemistry Tutor on YouTube are great learning resources for this course. Go to them in times of confusion.

Good math teachers are really hard to come by but Clifford is most definitely one. He is forgiving on tests and quizzes and cares more about a student's understanding of the material than if they made one error that throws their final answer off. He didn't require any homework to be turned it which already canonizes him in my book.

Prof Clifford is an extremely fair professor. If you want to get an A in the class then take notes on all his examples because most of the time the same ones show on the exam, do all the homework problems for each section in a timely manner, and always do his optional homework because they help your grade. Overall great professor!

Calc is hard, but if I hadn't taken it in HS, I prob would have failed with him as my teacher. Personally, I thought a lot of his lectures were confusing & he would just leave half-finished examples up that were no help. Spent a lot of lectures going over unnecessary info. Never felt like I knew what to expect on his tests. Ask questions if needed!

Clifford is a great professor, exams are challenging but fair. Expect quizzes every other week and homework is not graded but essential for a good grade. lectures consist of examples, theorems, definitions, and proofs. with everything written on the board. making note taking very easy to follow.

Mr Clifford is a nice and fair teacher at UMD. He is very smart at math, however if dont take notes well you will not do good. Take notes, and read the book will help you and Mr Clifford is fair on tests and quizzes. Would take again and very nice guy.

Best math professor I've had. If you don't understand something in class he will go out of his way to help you during office hours or other times if you can't make it. He is very clear about what you need to know for exams, and if you take notes during lectures you will be fine.

He's about as average of a professor as average gets. I took him for Calc 2 the second time I've taken the class, and if I didn't have the knowledge from the first time, I would have been lost. Not a great professor. Not terrible, but not great at all.

Weekly quizzes, drops lowest 2. No WebWork. 3 tests and a final. Assigns homework problems from the book, but it is not required that you do them only suggested. Class is not easy, but with effort you can pass. Clifford does his best to help you and does a good job explaining difficult concepts. I would take him again.

Motivates students to study by giving them weekly quizzes. No online homework. Assigns book work that he RECOMMENDS you do, but doesn't collect. Honestly, if you take really GOOD notes and pay attention to lecture, doing all the homework isn't necessary. Overall a great professor, and tests students fairly. Rate 9/10, would take again.

He's very very clear on what he expects from you. A lot of the time the stuff he discusses on Monday comes on the Thursday quiz. He gives a lot of homework none of which is graded but it essential to do if you want an A. I would def. take him again.

Not a great professor to take if calculus isn't your strong suit. Lectures are very disorganized and he tends to go on tangents about irrelevant topics. Exams were tough and he didn't really provide much feedback. You'll have to spend a lot of time learning on your own to succeed.

Lectures optional; I'm certain he improvises them. Explanations confusing and long enough that HW questions take up most of class. Goes on long irrelevant tangents, leaves class for phone calls, then holds class past time limit. Quizzes strangely easy, tests have topics not covered in class. Feedback on tests rare at best. Extra credit essential.

Professor Clifford is the best math teacher I ever took in my entire life. He does any problem step by step and explains exactly what he is doing. If you have to take calc 2 take him. I got a 100% on the first exam and I look forward to going to his class every day.

Let me be completely honest, at day one I thought I made a huge mistake. He constantly stuttered, and was ill prepared. He also expected you to remember Calc 1. A couple of people dropped, but then he got more comfortable and gave extra credit like crazy. I met a lot of friends and the lectures were funny, and I got more intrigued with the material

He is a very good Professor, he is always willing to help and makes sure you know what you are doing. If you do homework he assigns and examples he does in class you will be more than fine. His quizzes and tests are straight forward, not tricky. I love Prof Clifford such a nice professor.

He goes on long boring tangents about his life and takes up most of the time. He's not organized at all. Sometimes he will go over time and won't let you leave. We were always falling behind, like at the end of the semester we're 2 weeks behind schedule. I self-learned with the book, it's pointless going to his class.

Not a great professor but not bad either. His lectures are clear, Tests & quizzes were straight to the point--not easy, obviously, it's Calc 2, but if you do the homework assigned (not graded) and study for the exams you'll do fine. Drops a few of the quizzes. Keep in mind in Calc 2, work is required to pass The work you put in is the grade you get
