I had Prof. Conron in 86-90. I took every course that he offered. He challenged me, motivated me, and inspired me. The best professor I ever had. I am an English teacher because of him. I think about him and his courses often.

John is a fantastic teacher, inspiring and on top of his field. He keeps absolutely up to date with exciting new fiction. I am a lecturer myself now and I am just writing a new course for my students based on the courses I took with him whilst at Clark. I will always be grateful to him for all he introduced me to. A most generous human being.

I had Conron in 1978/79. He was new at Clark then, and just a wonderful, dynamic and exciting lecturer. Few, I suspect,could illuminate Puritan writings like he did. I majored in Chemistry, but for a moment there, in my freshman year, I wavered. I still read the books sometimes, after all these years. I still remember him fondly.
