I loved him! It was a tough class we a had a lot go big assignments. But I learned a lot. He was very helpful. He even gave out his home phone number where we can call him for help. I think those who think the class was not worth it or did not like him was because they didn't get to know him or ask for help outside of class! I recommend his class!

Prof Fox is a nice man, however he is not a very good professor. The nuances of taxation is confusing to many students and his review sessions are not helpful as he rambles. Tried to meet with him 1 on 1 for help but there were 5 other students at "our" meeting. Overall, I learned a lot but I'm not sure if the stress was worth it.

He's very intelligent and knows taxation well. People might not like him because he's willing to give out C's. You must do the reading (which isn't excessive) because he will call on you. He won't baby you, but he's not mean either, he just expects you to do your work. Great class.

Professor Fox is unbelievably out of touch with the environment here at Mount Holyoke. Not helpful, arrogant, and he probably couldn't handle the pressure of being a lawyer and turned all his frustration on his students in a very subtle, artificially friendly manner.

He & his texts were easy to understand. Put together two packets for us & his book for the class was approx. $7. Although he is hard, he gives a lot of help on work, incl. looking up/giving students sources. Willing to help if you ask. Expects you to come in outside of class freq. for 1-2 hour meetings. Also expects same-day response to e-mails.

Arrogant, unhelpful, and unclear. Seems to think he is a gift to academia, when in reality, he would've been doing everyone a favor by continuing to do tax law. He seems to love teaching but does not appear to invest any energy into improving his teaching methods. Without a doubt the worst teacher I have had at Mount Holyoke.

Poverty in the U.S. was one of the most difficult classes I have taken at MHC, but professor Fox is full of knowledge, very educated inhis field, and has had lots of experience in the "real world." He requires a lot of work on the student's behalf, but he is always available for help and really puts

Teaches students in a tired manner. Explains an unknown topic to us as though we already know it. Expects us to give him his answer. Goes overtime: 5 -10 minutes after class and 3 hours on a weekend = at the end of the semester you've spent an extra 2 weeks in class. Difficult to talk to.
