Prof. Gizis often did not explain any of the material or requirements clearly or simply -- during lectures or review sessions -- even though the course is supposed to be "geared towards a general audience". Prof Gizis is a very knowledgable, good humored instructor that presents the material in a clear cut and understandable manner. More than willing to help you if/when you need it - and his suggestions actually help. You really learn some fairly difficult material, but he makes it easier on you. Easily one of my favorite professors I've had.

He is really nice but way too smart for his own good. Can't teach physics to save his life so I taught myself everything and did pretty well. Not lying when I say you can literally miss every single class and still do fine. He doesn't answer ANY emails AT ALL but if u can teach yourself stuff just take him and you'll get an A or B

Gizis is awesome! I thought physics 201 would be tough, but he is SO helpful. He makes lectures enjoyable and he's very nice and wants his students to pass. I wish he was teaching physics 202!!

He's such a nice guy and tries his best to make this class enjoyable! If you go to class and do the mastering physics homework, you'll do fine. Attendance isn't mandatory but it really helps to go to class!

Gizis definitely knows his stuff about the universe. I took PHYS145 and this class is so much better. I learned so much. Not gonna lie, I was shocked how much work was involved, and the first exam almost gave me a heart attack, but he grades really easy. Go to class, do the homework, and study and you should do well.

Lectures pretty boring, exams are super easy (but read the textbook!!!). Two papers and occasional homework on mastering astronomy. He's really into what he's talking about and is blatantly extremely dorky. Nice guy, approachable, and an overall easy class.

Awesome Professor. Very fair exams and very passionate about teaching. Labs were not interesting, however, and had nothing to do with the material covered on exams. Also, homeowork assignments were very tedious. All in all, an excellent professor who made the subject very interesting.

I love Gizis! His personality is sooo cute! He is really helpful and really nice and is available to students. I am not a science fan but I learnt so much and enjoyed it too! He makes the tests much less harder than they could be, but the hw assignments are tricky. All in all, I would defi. recommend and would take again. Gizis rocks!

Gizis is awesome! His nerdy personality makes the class that much more enjoyable. Labs are boring, but not hard. You don't have to read really...though online assignments are a pain, but usually not too hard. Definitely take to fulfill group D requirement!

Professor Gizis is really easygoing, though he tends to go off on tangents when he talks about astronomy. Tests and labs are pretty easy, but the labs sometimes have nothing to do w/ his lectures. Online homework can be somewhat tricky too. This is a great course for people who don't like science & need to get that Group D Lab credit out of the way.

Great Class! The class and homeworks are pretty difficult, but tests are fair. Prof Gizis is a great teacher and so smart. He's more than willing to help you and he makes class pretty enjoyable. I never knew I could laugh so much in a physics class! Take him! :)

Took Astronomy for my lab science, best decision I EVER MADE! For a lib arts major, this is the best lab science to take, forget about the microscopes and beakers. Interesting subject too. EASY EASY grader, got an A
